Covenant to decorate
on Monday
LOCK HAVEN -- Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., plans the Hanging of the Greens for Monday, Nov. 21.
The annual time to decorate the church for Advent is set for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a soup, sandwiches, or a dessert to share.
Free Santa photos
HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church will be hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus at the church on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. until noon. Parents are invited to bring their children to visit with Santa and to take photos for free! No need to stand in long lines and pay a fee for pictures with the North Pole couple when you can bring your own camera or smart phone and take photos for free.
Each child will receive a small gift from Santa during the event. For questions call 814-625-2362. The church is located at 144 W. Main St., Howard.
Candle walk
MARSH CREEK -- Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church is planning to "rekindle" a tradition that was started some 72 years ago at the church. Cora Buckwalter began the annual Christmas candle walk with all the young ladies of the church. If you ever participated in the candle walk services over the years then you are invited to join us for a Reproduction of a Traditional Christmas Candle Walk that will be held on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner
BEECH CREEK -- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will host a free Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. They will serve you with dine-ins at the church or with take outs that can be picked up at the church. Christmas Bazaar
JERSEY SHORE --St. John Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Sat., Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The general public is invited to attend and purchase a hot lunch, deluxe homemade cookie trays, holiday crafts, fresh Christmas evergreen centerpieces and an assortment of things (antiques and collectibles) from their white elephant table.
There will be a special arrival of "Santa" between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The bazaar is a fun event for the entire family.
St. John Lutheran Church also invites you to attend their regular worship service each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Jewels for Jesus
JERSEY SHORE -- The first-ever "Jewels for Jesus" event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church, 235 S. Main St., Jersey Shore.
The church has new and gently used costume and fine jewelry priced to sell. Items include but not limited to earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pins, etc. Jewelry will be nicely presented, boxed and bagged. This is the perfect event to get your holiday shopping done. Vendors are welcome.

Game Night
LOCK HAVEN -- The next monthly Game Night at Great Island Presbyterian Church, 12 W. Water St., Lock Haven, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 6-8 p.m. All ages welcome. Games and cards will be available or bring your favorite to share. Game nights are held monthly on the second Thursday of the month.
Free Community Thanksgiving Meal
HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church will once again offer a Free Thanksgiving Meal to the residents of the community on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Residents are invited to attend the dine-in meal in the church fellowship hall or get take-out meals. The meal is free, but if you would like to bring a box of cereal for the food pantry it would be greatly appreciated.
Sing alongs
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, holds sing-alongs the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Each runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary and features old favorites. The public is invited. Songbooks are provided with Kay Bossert leading and Pam Blesh playing the piano.
Coffee club
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
Recycling help
YARNELL -- Yarnell United Methodist Church would like your help in recycling. The church is collecting plastic bags that will be recycled and made into a bench for the church yard.
Through Trex Recycling, the church team needs to collect more than 500 pounds of plastic (that's about 40,500 plastic bags) in a six-month span then Trex will donate a high-performance composite bench to the church. So far the church has collected about 235 pounds of the plastic towards the bench goal, but the Feb. 1 collection deadline is fast approaching.
Plactic being collected are grocery bags, dry cleaning bags, Ziploc bags of all sizes, bread bags (turn inside out to dump out the bread crumbs), plastic wrap taken from cases of water, toilet paper and paper towels, shrink wrap and bubble wrap. Plastics can be dropped off to Donna who lives near the Yarnell UM Church. Call Donna first at 814-880-9450 to make arrangements so that she can collect your bags and place them in a dry area.
McElhattan UMC
McELHATTAN --If you are searching for a church, members of McElhattan United Methodist Church extend an invitation to join them for Sunday morning worship at 10 a.m. The church is under new pastoral leadership by Laura Gilbert.
Church office hours are on Thursday's from 1 to 4 p.m. and Bible study is also on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m.
