Lenten fish fry

LOCK HAVEN -- Holy Spirit Parish will be holding their annual Lenten fish fry beginning Friday, Feb. 24 at the parish center, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven.

This year's fry will be drive-thru only. The meal will consist of baked or fried fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, bread and a dessert for $11.

A child or petite meal will also be available for $15. The fish fry will take place every Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. through Lent except for Good Friday. The meal is drive-thru only.

PA Dutch style dinner

RENOVO -- First Renovo United Methodist Church, 7th Street, will hold a drive-up Pennsylvania Dutch style ham potpie meal from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13.

The meal will consist of ham potpie, green beans, coleslaw and dessert for $11.

You may call ahead to pre-order between 2 to 4 p.m. the day of at 570-923-1313. Pick up will take place at the back porch of the church.

Ash Wednesday

NORTH BEND -- North Bend United Methodist Church will hold its Ash Wednesday Service at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Gospel Hymn Sing

LOCK HAVEN --Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven invites everyone to an Old Fashion Gospel Hymn Sing with the local band, the Twisted Racquet Tears, on Sunday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the church Assembly Room on first floor.

The church has a parking lot adjacent to the building and free street parking is available on Sunday. The location is handicapped accessible with an inside ramp.

Holy Moments in History

MILL HALL -- Thomas Jefferson will be the topic of Bald Eagle Presbyterian Church's Holy Moments in History gathering on March 1.

The church invites everyone to join them at the church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary for the monthly event.

Members will talk about the influence Jefferson's faith had on the founding of our country. They will also talk about the historic events Jefferson was involved in and the difference he made.

Mike Palischak will lead the discussion and include interesting facts and little known information.

Hoodie Hoo Day

McELHATTAN -- Tired of old man winter? Join members of McElhattan United Methodist Church for Hoodie Hoo Day at noon on Feb. 20 at the red light along McElhattan Drive.

Dress in your finest spring attire and help bring in spring. A luncheon will follow at the church.

Lasagna dinner canceled

McELHATTAN -- McElhattan United Methodist Church has canceled the lasagna dinner that was planned for Feb. 18. The church apologizes for any disappointment the cancellation may cause.

Sportsmen's Banquet

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ will be holding its Sportsmen's Banquet on Friday, March 3, with tickets available now. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with the meal from 6-7 p.m. This year's program, which begins at 7:45 p.m., will feature speaker Jim Joint.

Soup sale

LOCK HAVEN --The youth group at First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven, will hold a soup sale on Sunday, Feb. 19, at the church.

A variety of soups will be available for purchase from 10:45 a.m. until all is sold out. The meal costs $7 and includes 16 ounce soup, dessert and dinner roll. The meal may be eaten in or taken out.
