Prayer is a weapon for today, which can be used for offense or defense.
All throughout history, man has depended upon God's help after a catastrophe has occurred, and for the most part, this has resulted in monumental effects.
Not only do we see this in the Word of God -- with God producing food for the masses, the blind to see and the dead raised -- but within the last decade men have asked for the appropriate weather to provide a victory in war (ie. Patton's 300,000 copies of "Prayer for Good Weather"); they have asked protection for Allied troops that resulted in the miraculously evacuation from the French shores, which is known today as the "Miracle of Dunkirk."
Even in our time, millions prayed for a young athlete and saw results, along with a local young woman experiencing a miracle of life through prayer.
In all these glorious events, men and women have recognized the need for divine intervention. They acknowledged that their knowledge, wisdom, might and strength weren't enough to prevail and have victory. They all needed God's help. They asked for a defense and received it.
Today we can march on in the offense with God's word and take ground before there is an attempt for it to be stolen. Mark 22:24 says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
This isn't a "name it, claim it" proposition but an offensive move on our part. We can stand on the promises that were given by the Bible and believe what was written gives us victories. In Psalm 103:3-5, it is written that God has forgiven all your sins and heals all your diseases, He has redeemed your life from the pit and crowned you with love and compassion, He has satisfied your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
These proclamations from the Word of God allow you to be victorious in all circumstances.
Why? Because the Bible tells us so!
Therefore stand, and when you have done all, stand and inherit your promises.
