Prayer Shawl

Ministry

MILL HALL — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., will hold its Prayer Shawl ministry on Wednesday, April 5 at noon. All needle workers, crocheters and knitters are invited, all denominations and all skill levels are welcome also.

The ministry always meets the first Wednesday of every month. The church is handicap accessible and supplies all of the yarn needed to make the prayer shawl projects along with the needles and patterns. People can work at their own speed and at home during the month.

The ministry will no longer serve hot meals, but will have refreshments. Ladies are welcome to bring their own lunch or snacks to share.

The ministry asks that you please bring your needles to the meeting because you may want to participate in a group project. Surprises will be given out to those participating.

Egg hunt

MILL HALL — New Hope Fellowship, 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, will hold its Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. 3,500 plus eggs, free lunch, golden egg prizes, facepainting, crafts and games. All are welcome!

Eggstravaganza

BEECH CREEK — Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek, will hold its annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Sunday, April 2, at 1 p.m. Children ages 12 and under are invited to hunt among the thousands of candy filled eggs for special prize eggs. Cookies and other sweet treats will also be available.

Egg hunts

Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church will have an outdoor Easter egg hunt on the church lawn on April 1 beginning at 1 p.m. The hunt is for pre-K to 11 years old and is weather dependent.

Flemington First Church of Christ will hold an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 1, at 2 p.m.

Avis United Methodist Church will hold its Easter egg hunt and Easter story on Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. Kids of all ages are welcome.

Children should bring a basket or bucket for collecting eggs at the hunts.

Church Bazaar

HOWARD — Howard Christian Church will be having an Easter Bazaar at the church on Walnut Street on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is taking pre-orders until March 30 for ham pot pie at $9 a quart that can be picked up at the bazaar. The church is also taking orders until March 25 for Valerie Wynn’s flavored Easter eggs. Flavors available are peanut butter, coconut, mallow cup, orange creamsicle and butter pecan. The eggs are $2 each. Potpie and egg orders need to be called to Sheri at 814-876-2910.

Shoe Collection

HOWARD — Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church is collecting new and gently used shoes for the Gospel Tide. Shoes will be collected during March and April. If other churches in our area would agree to collect shoes and serve as drop-off points that would be great. Bonnie Young, the church shoe donation coordinator, is willing to collect the shoes and transport them to Gospel Tide at the end of April. Call Bonnie at 570-962-2665 for info.

Fisherman’s

Breakfast

AVIS — Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis, will hold its free Fisherman’s Breakfast on Saturday, April 1, from 6:30 to 10 a.m.

All are welcome to enjoy the meal. For more information, call the church office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 570-753-8137.

Annual Spring

Bazaar

JERSEY SHORE — St. James Lutheran Church located at 3242 Middle Road, Jersey Shore, will hold its annual Spring Bazaar on Saturday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The general public can purchase a hot lunch, homemade soups, hamburg BBQ and hot dogs as well as homemade bake goods including pies, cakes, cookies, fudge, brownies and more.

There will also be an assortment of items from their white elephant table, including collectibles and numerous bric-a-brac items.

The church also invites you to attend their regular worship service every Sunday at 10 a.m.

Easter Bible

Studies

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ will hold Sunday Night, Easter Bible Studies from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning March 5, and running each week through Sunday, April 2.

Lenten fish fries

LOCK HAVEN — Holy Spirit Parish will be holding their annual Lenten fish fries at the parish center, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven.

This year’s fries will be drive-thru only. The meal will consist of baked or fried fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, bread and a dessert for $15.

The fish fry will take place every Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. through Lent except on Good Friday.

Sing alongs

MILL HALL — Covenant United Methodist Church holds sing-alongs the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Each runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary and features old favorites. The public is invited. Songbooks are provided with Kay Bossert leading and Pam Blesh playing the piano.

Coffee club

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m.

Youth group

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds its Youth Group meetings on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. The group is open to grades kindergarten through fourth and also fifth through twelfth. The meeting starts off each Thursday with a meal, followed by a lesson and game time. Call 570-726-8009 for more details.
