LOCK HAVEN -- Piercing Word announced the presentation of "Passion: The Musical" on April 2 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lock Haven. This original production will be touring throughout the Easter season.
"This is a powerful presentation of the gospel and how Jesus fulfills everything written about him in the Old Testament. We have framed the piece with a modern-day, urban concept that offers a compelling perspective on the last supper, trial, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. The beauty of the music and the truth of the words create a powerful piece that will minister to both the 'churched' and the 'unchurched' this Easter season," says Caleb Hughes, Artistic Director of Piercing Word.
The five-person cast brings the Passion story to life using a compilation of passages from all four Gospels, as well as Psalm 23 and Isaiah 53. It is accompanied by original music with Scripture lyrics that will captivate audiences of all ages.
Piercing Word performs Scripture in dramatic and musical presentations, word-for-word from the ESV Bible. They are a non-profit, 501(c)3, Christian ministry based in Lancaster, PA and have been performing Scripture across the country since 2007. The mission of Piercing Word is to ignite passion for the Word of God in the heart of the Church. They challenge everyone, everywhere they go to, to memorize the Word of God for themselves and then equip them to do so through their Warriors of the Word Bible memorization resources.
