Date Change of Monday Meal

RENOVO -- The Second Monday Dinner at Renovo First United Methodist Church, the 7th Street Church, will be held on the third Monday in June because of work being done on the church kitchen. June's dinner will be on June 19, from 4-6 p.m. The menu will include a bbq half chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert for $12.

Meal pickup is between 4-6 p.m.

Place your pre-orders beforehand or between 2-4 p.m. on June 19 at 570-923-1313 to pick-up between 4-6 p.m. that same day. Preordering is not required.

To pick up your meal, please enter from 8th Street and come to the back porch of the church.

Concert and Picnic

MARSH CREEK -- Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church invites the community to events being held this month. Tomorrow, June 11, there will be an outdoor morning worship service beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a Southern Gospel concert and picnic. The concert will feature a father-son duo from Ohio. Bring your lawn chairs and a covered dish if you'd like to contribute to the picnic foods, but it's not necessary.

On Friday evening, June 16, the church will have an outdoor hymn sing and fellowship time at the church pavilion beginning at 7 p.m. Bring a lawn chair for more comfortable sitting.

VBS will be held June 25-28 at the church. Sunday night starts with a kick-off picnic at 5:30. VBS begins at 6:30 the other evenings. The theme is Heavenward Ho this year. All children (and their parents) are welcome. The church is located at 417 Summit Hill Road, Howard.

Sunday Concerts

LAMAR -- Lamar Lighthouse Camp will be having Sunday night concerts beginning June 11 with Glory Way. The featured singers on June 18 will be Victory Trio. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are free to attend. A free-will love offering is taken during each service. Lamar Lighthouse Campground is located along Route 64 in Lamar.

Vacation Bible School

Various churches from the Sugar Valley area are sponsoring an outdoor Vacation Bible School experience at the Booneville Campground from Sunday, June 25, through Thursday, June 29. This year’s theme is “Stellar - Shine Jesus’ Light” and will feature outer space decor, crafts and activities. All ages from preschool through teens are welcome to attend. No registration is required to attend. The event will begin at 6 p.m. on June 25 and end at 8:30 p.m. The times for the remaining four days are 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. For additional information, contact Grace at (570) 725-3926 or Dee at (570) 725-3013.

Worship Service Time Change

Beginning Sunday, June 4, the Nittany Valley Charge United Church of Christ Sunday morning worship service times will change. Mt. Bethel/Salona will worship at Salona at 9 a.m. and Emmanuel, Jacksonville, will worship at 10:30 a.m. Mt. Bethel/Salona will continue to alternate between churches every other Sunday (June 11, 2023 service will be at Mt. Bethel.) These times will remain in effect through Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Mt. Bethel's Painting

LAMAR -- Lisa Badger will give a presentation about "The Good Shepherd" painting by Annie Snyder that hangs in Mt. Bethel's sanctuary on June 11 at 9 a.m. The public is invited to this free event.

Parish Fun Fair

LOCK HAVEN -- Holy Spirit Parish will hold its annual Fun Fair at the St. Agnes Church grounds, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven. The fair will run again this evening, June 10, from 5-9 p.m., and features food, baked goods, themed baskets, fun games and a band each night. Food available includes pierogies, stromboli, funnel cakes, hot dogs, meatball sandwiches and hot sausage.

Also included is a 2023 Northern Deanery Raffle for a new 2022 Chevrolet Trax LS AWD. Additional prizes include a Kubota 42 in. zero turn; a Snapper riding mower; a Yeti Tundra haul cooler bundle and a Penn State bundle featuring two tickets.

Karwowski to visit Swissdale UMC

Rachael Karwowski will do the church service on June 11 at the Swissdale United Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome to come and hear Rachael sing and speak.
