St. Luke's to host Blood Drive
FLEMINGTON -- St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood drive on Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church.
You may register to donate on the Red Cross Website at www.redcrossblood.org. Select "Find a Location" and enter zip code 17745 and select "Make and Appointment," scroll to Tuesday, Aug. 29, select St. Luke's and schedule your appointment.
The church's famous root beer floats will be served.
Ham BBQ Dinner
RENOVO -- Renovo First (7th Street Church) will have a drive-up Ham BBQ dinner on Monday, July 10, from 4-6 p.m. Meal will feature 1/4 pound ham bbq with roll, macaroni salad, baked beans, pepper slaw and dessert for $10. Pre-ordering is appreciated but not required. Call ahead (570-923-1313) to order. Same day ordering is also available starting at 2 p.m. or drive up to pre-order and then pick-up by using 8th Street, turn at the alley and come to the back porch of the church.
Church Yard Sale
LOGANTON -- Something for everyone at St. John's UCC of Tylersville, 3782 Narrows Road, Loganton.
Yard Sale will be held on Friday, July 14, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, July 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Blueberry Festival
AVIS -- The Garman Lutheran Church will be hosting a Blueberry Festival on Saturday, July 8, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., at 1779 Sulphur Run Road, Pine Creek Twp. Food, baked goods and crafts will be available for purchase.
Sunday Concerts
LAMAR -- Lamar Lighthouse Camp along Route 64 in Lamar will have Summer Concerts each Sunday evening at 7 p.m. Avenue Trio will be performing on July 9. The Lore Family will be the featured musicians at the campground on July 16. All concerts are free, but a love offering is taken each Sunday evening. Call Lynette at 570-337-0203 for more info.
Christians with Rhythm Choir
HOWARD -- St. Mark Lutheran Church (850 Snydertown Road, Howard) will host the Christians with Rhythm Choir's summer concert on July 8 at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the concert. The concert is free. A free-will offering will be taken with the money used to purchase music for future events and concerts.
The Christians with Rhythm Choir is a community choir made up of members from various churches in Central Pennsylvania. Each year, the choir performs a cantata in January and a summer concert. This year's summer concert features music of a variety styles and genres.

Awaken Youth Conference
AVIS -- The Avis United Methodist Church will hold an Awaken Youth Conference in August.
This is a youth conference for everyone, from incoming 6th grade students to graduated 12th graders. It's a weekend-long event (not overnight) at the church for students to come together and make friends, learn about the Bible and other topics important to teenagers and have fun while doing it!
The church plans outdoor excursions which include fishing, kayaking, hiking and indoor activities like crafts! Members will have speakers from the area come and share their story and talk about the theme that runs through the entire weekend.
Come join church members this August for an awesome weekend. Cost is $50 per student and that includes food, merchandise, notebook, pen, stickers and more.

Weekly services
MILL HALL -- The Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church holds weekly services each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. All denominations are welcome and the church is handicap accessible with plenty of parking in the back of the church. Refreshments are always available.
Outdoor Concert Series
SNYDERTOWN -- St. Mark Lutheran Church at 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will host three, free, family-friendly music events this summer outside around its pavilion. Besides music, the evenings feature a fire pit to roast hot dogs, S'mores and more. Those who attend can bring food for themselves and to share. It all makes for a wonderful evening for community time.
On July 14, the Bluegrass group, the Parlor Pickers, will perform. And, finally, on July 28, Karen Barner will perform sing-alongs for kids. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs for more comfortable sitting. Each evening begins at 6:30 p.m. when the fire pit gets going, and music starts around 7 p.m.

MACKEYVILLE -- Mackeyville United Methodist will be having outdoor services with music at their pavilion on July 15, Aug. 26, Sept.16 and Oct. 14. The services will begin at 7 p.m. Contact Eileen at 814-777-5510 for more info.
Service Time Changes
The Nittany Valley Charge United Church of Christ Sunday morning worship service times have changed. Mt. Bethel/Salona will worship at Salona at 9 a.m. and Emmanuel UCC in Jacksonville will worship at 10:30 a.m. Mt. Bethel/Salona will continue to alternate between churches every other Sunday. These times will remain in effect through Sunday, May 26, 2024.
The People's United Methodist Church of Farrandsville has updated their hours for worship this summer. Effective July 2, services will begin at 9 a.m. This change will be in effect for an undetermined date.
5-Day Club
SNYDERTOWN -- St. Mark Lutheran Church at 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, hosts 5-Day Club -- a free week of games, activities, Bible lessons and more for kids. The club, which is run by Child Evangelism Fellowship, goes from July 17-21, from 1-3 p.m. each day, at St. Mark Lutheran.
Each day consists of dynamic Bible lessons, creative learning activities, songs and more. It is designed for children ages 5 to 12, regardless of religious background, but all ages are welcome. Parents also are welcome to stay. Free snacks and refreshments are provided each day. While the club is free, parents/guardians are asked to register their children. Nittany Valley Alliance Church will hold a fall hymn sing on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
Sing-alongs
MILL HALL -- Mill Hall Presbyterian church holds sing-alongs the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Each runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary and features old favorites. The public is invited. Songbooks are provided with Kay Bossert leading and Pam Blesh playing the piano.

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m.
Youth group
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds its Youth Group meetings on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. The group is open to grades kindergarten through fourth and also fifth through twelfth.
