The Romans Road

By Rev. JOHN SNYDER 4 min read

The Gospel message can be summed up with verses from the book of Romans in the Bible for someone who does not know God.

1. Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

2. Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

3. Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

4. Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

5. Romans 10:9-10 - If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

In their 4 Spiritual Laws Booklet, Campus Crusade for Christ International expressed these 4 points about the Gospel message:

1. God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. (John 3:16, John 10:10)

2. Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23)

3. Jesus Christ is God's only provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life. (Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3-6, John 14:6)

4. We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives. (John 1:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, Revelation 3:20)

Many Gospel presentations announce the way of salvation to encourage people. The theme of these presentations typically follows the outline of the Romans Road. The whole Gospel message can be summed up in one verse: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." We can now individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; and then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

God loves us and He made a way for us to be saved, have our sins forgiven, have eternal life and to become a child of God. Our part is to respond to this offer by receiving Jesus as our personal Savior by faith into our hearts. We need to walk on the Romans Road and be born again by the supernatural work of God's Spirit.

There is no better decision than to know and receive Jesus. Giving your life to Jesus changes everything! No matter your past mistakes or your present fears, Jesus can give you a new life in Him. All you need to do is put your faith in Him.

If you do not know Jesus and would like to know Him, this is a suggested prayer to help guide you:

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."

If you prayed that prayer or a prayer like it, or if you are interested in knowing more about God's love, please contact a Bible-believing church or even chat with a pastor in the area for further help. We would love to pray with you and offer you support in your journey with God!
