BELLEFONTE — Freedom Life Church invites individuals and families to Bald Eagle Area High School on Saturday, Oct. 21, for a fun-filled morning. The community is coming together to raise awareness and support in the fight against human trafficking.

“The realization that trafficking is an incredible injustice in our society and around the world is uncomfortable and hard to talk about at times, but it’s necessary for us to shed light into the darkness,” explains Senior Pastor Sam Masteller. “My wife and I saw the movie ‘Sound of Freedom’ this summer, and it strengthened our desire to lead our church in responding to this cultural crisis.”

Proceeds from the Freedom 5K & Fun Run will benefit All Things Possible, founded by Victor Marx, to set captives free. Donations will aid its Pedophile Hunter Fund, House of Refuge and PTSD recovery for women and children after trauma.

“This is our first Freedom 5K and we are pumped,” shares Campus Pastor Josh Simonetti. “We’ve participated with our partner churches in the past, but this is the first event we’re hosting in Centre County, and we are going to have the most fun making a difference!”

The morning will begin with the 5K run/walk at 9 a.m., medals will be awarded to the top finishers. During the 5K a free Kids’ Zone will be open, including inflatables, face painting, crafts, games and activities. Free concessions will be available for runners, walkers and all who attend.

Younger participants are encouraged to register for the Fun Run that is a shorter distance and will occur following the 5K.

To conclude the festivities, FL Kids will host a Trunk-or-Treat that is open to the public. Volunteers will decorate the trunks of their vehicles in kid-friendly themes and distribute candy to children. Costumes are encouraged, but not necessary. The Trunk-or-Treat will open at

10:30 a.m. and conclude by 11:30 a.m.
