Homecoming Weekend
MARSH CREEK -- Summit Hill Wesleyan Church is hosting a Homecoming Weekend at the church grounds. Saturday from 1-4 p.m. will be a covered dish church picnic with games and family fun! Basket Auction tickets available with the winners drawn Sunday afternoon. A Pie Safe Auction on Saturday at 3 p.m. where you can bid on your favorite cakes and pies that have been baked and decorated. There will be a Hymn Sing at 6 p.m., followed by a campfire with hot dogs, Smores and mountain pies to enjoy!
On Sunday, beginning at 9:30 there will be coffee, donuts and morning fellowship at the church pavilion, followed by a morning worship service with special guest Pastor Matt Pickering speaking. On Sunday afternoon there will be a "Stone Soup" picnic lunch. Bring a covered dish of food to share for lunch. Basket winners will be announced at 1 p.m.

Homecoming service
LOGANTON -- All are welcome to attend the Annual Homecoming service at the former St. Paul's EUB Church in Sugar Valley on Oct. 1. Come join church members and guest speaker Pastor Blake Gulley from the Tylersville UCC Church who will share an inspirational message.
The event will have special music provided by the talented local group "Fishers of Men." The offerings received during this Homecoming service are used for the upkeep and maintenance of the beautiful, historic St. Paul's Church and Cemetery. Worship and fellowship start at 2:30 p.m.
Taste of the Tide
MILL HALL -- Marsh Creek BIC and Cedar Heights BIC Churches will be offering a Mediterranean meal to support the Gospel Tide with its ministry. The meal will be held on Sept. 30 beginning at 5 p.m. at Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church in Mill Hall. The meal is free and will feature Mediterranean food along with a presentation by Gospel Tide. The public is invited to learn more about the Gospel Tide ministry. Monetary donations to benefit Gospel Tide will be accepted.
Fall Hymn Sing
Nittany Valley Alliance Church will hold a fall hymn sing on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
Fall Festival
LOCK HAVEN -- The First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven, will be having its annual fall festival Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everything is free! Everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun.
Blessing of Pets
HOWARD -- St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will hold a Blessing of Pets and Animals at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The service will be held under the church pavilion, and also will include remembering pets we have lost. The church also will be taking donations that will go to Centre County PAWS.
The service is held in early October each year, around the time the church remembers Francis of Assisi, who had a spirit of gratitude for all of creation, including pets and animals.
All are invited to bring their pets or a photo of their pets to the service to receive a blessing. Please have all dogs on leashes.

Chicken Dinner
JERSEY SHORE -- The Oriole Church, 39 Main Road, Jersey Shore, will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 4-7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for a donation of $6.50 for adults; $4 for children 4-12; and those under age 4 will be free.
Hymn sings
MILL HALL -- Those who are interested in singing old hymns that our grandparents sang are invited to sing at Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. For questions, call 570-726-4112 and leave a message.
The church is handicap accessible with lots of parking behind the church. Refreshments are served before the service.
Proclaiming His Word
HOWARD -- Curtin United Methodist Church will feature Gwen Mouliert, Proclaiming His Word, during the weekend of Oct. 6-8. The Friday evening service begins at 7 p.m. The Saturday morning service begins at 9:30 a.m. and the Saturday evening service starts at 7 p.m. The Sunday morning service starts at 8 a.m.
