Fall festival
AVIS -- Phelps Chapel Church off Pine Creek Exit off Route 220 is having a Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to ? There will be homemade ice cream, vegetable soup, chili, hot dogs and desserts.
Ladies Day Out
FLEMINGTON -- Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W. 4th St., Lock Haven, will be holding a free Ladies Day Out on Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church's Fellowship Building. This event is a relaxing and refreshing day to get away from the busyness of life and relax with friends, share laughter and stories and spend time with God. Fall fair
FLEMINGTON -- St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding a Fall Fair, Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be an indoor yard sale, vendors and a raffle. Homemade pies, desserts, homemade soups and sandwiches will also be served. St. Luke's is also holding a food drive the entire month of October for the Lock Haven Salvation Army Food Bank, to help the organization in their Thanksgiving Food drive.
Fall Bazaar
RAUCHTOWN -- St. James Lutheran Church, Rt. 880 and Middle Rd. in Rauchtown, will be holding their annual Fall Bazaar on Sat., Nov. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be Christmas items for sale as well as fresh baked goods and homemade soup. A hot lunch will also be available for purchase. Several white elephant tables will be packed with antiques and collectibles and there will be gift baskets raffled off. Everyone is invited to attend. And, all are welcome to attend regular Sunday services at 10 a.m. each Sunday.
Bring a Friend to Church
FLEMINGTON -- Sunday, Nov. 5, is Bring a Friend to Church Sunday and an Open House at Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St. Join members for morning worship at 8:45 a.m. followed by light refreshments. Tours of the church building will also be given out to those who wish to see the building.
Election Day Dinner
JERSEY SHORE -- First United Methodist Church, 236 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, will hold its 49th Annual Clair D. Thompson Memorial Election Day Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
The meals are take-out only with curbside pick up along Thompson Street. The cost is $10 for the meal including baked ham, sweet potato, vegetable, cole slaw, roll and butter, applesauce and cake.
Grief Support Group
MACKEYVILLE -- Grief Support Group, to help those in area communities that are dealing with a loss, will meet Wednesday, Nov. 8, and every second Wednesday of the month, at 7 p.m. at the Mackeyville United Methodist Church. Anyone who grieves the loss of loved ones is invited to join.
St. Paul's food pantry
MILL HALL -- The St. Paul's Food Bank will have a distribution on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 9-11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The distribution will include items for Thanksgiving Day dinner such as turkey, fresh produce, potatoes, ingredients for pumpkin pie and more. Don't forget to return your boxes! It is much appreciated. The food pantry serves the Mill Hall/Lamar area to the Centre County line.

SNYDERTOWN -- St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, is inviting all area veterans and their families to enjoy free coffee and donuts on Friday, Nov. 10, from 9-11 a.m. as a thank you for their service.
Sister to Sister
BLANCHARD -- On Nov. 10 and 11, the ladies at Blanchard Church of Christ will be hosting a Sister to Sister Women's Conference. Sister to Sister is a conference created and led by Julie Nevel, Christian contemporary recording artist. The purpose of this conference is to bring women from all walks of life together in unity to celebrate, to inspire and encourage one another toward our divine destiny and potential in Christ. The cost is $30 for Friday night, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Friday will include dinner and Saturday will include a brunch!
Holly Mart
LOCK HAVEN -- Holy Spirit Parish will be holding its annual Holly Mart Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Lock Haven Catholic School, 311 W. Water St., Lock Haven.
The spacious, handicap-accessible gymnasium will feature theme baskets, silent auction, new-to-you booth, baked goods and food. Santa will also be visiting on Sunday.
Pot Pie Sale
WINGATE -- Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church will hold a pot pie sale on Monday, Nov. 13, beginning at 4 p.m. Your choice of ham or chicken pot pie can be pre-ordered by calling Janette anytime before that Monday morning at 814-883-0893. Freezable quart containers filled with pot pie are $8 each and can be picked up in the parking lot starting at 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, until sold out. The church is located at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, just behind the Sheetz in Wingate.
Navigating Grief during the Holidays
SNYDERTOWN -- St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, is hosting "Navigating Grief During the Holidays" on Monday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m., in the church's fellowship room. The holiday season can be a difficult time for anyone experiencing grief, especially over a death of a loved one or a loss of some kind. Pastor Evelyn Wald visits St. Mark and will lead a discussion that will help those who are grieving and those who want to support someone who is grieving. Pastor Wald is the program director for Tides, which offers grief support to children, teens and adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. She also has more than 25 years of counseling experience in journeying with individuals, couples and families. She specializes in the areas of grief, loss and life transition. Soup Sale and Luncheon
HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist church will sponsor a community soup sale on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Eat in or take out. Soups available are vegetable beef, ham and bean, chicken corn and chicken noodle. Quarts for take out should be pre-ordered by the Sunday prior to luncheon. Cost is $8 for lunch or quarts of soup. BELLEFONTE -- On Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Hadassah Women's Ministry of Zion Community Church is sponsoring a soup, craft and bake sale. The event will take place in the Fellowship Hall located at 3261 Zion Road, Bellefonte. All proceeds will be donated to The Story Tour featuring Suicide Survivor Travis Habbershon with music by The Alan Scott Band.

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., will host Sunday night Bible study beginning from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The study will take place for several weeks and is focusing on the book of Daniel. Everyone is invited to attend.

MILL HALL -- Mill Hall Presbyterian Church holds sing-alongs the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Each runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary and features old favorites. The public is invited. Songbooks are provided with Kay Bossert leading and Pam Blesh playing the piano.

Coffee club & Youth Group
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m. Enjoy coffee and fellowship with others.
The church holds its Youth Group meetings on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. The group is open to grades kindergarten through fourth and also fifth through twelfth. The meeting starts off each Thursday with a meal, followed by a lesson and game time. Call 570-726-8009 for more details.
