Hometown Christmas

MILESBURG -- Milesburg's Hometown Christmas will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mrs. Claus and the Grange Fair Queen will be in town for Christmas activities. Merchants and businesses will be open for shoppers. The Baptist Church will be offering soup, sandwiches and crafts. Milesburg Museum will be open and offering an ornament sale. The United Methodist Church will have kids activities and a bake sale. Fisher's Market will have free cut Christmas trees and wreaths. The Crooked House will offer tours and don't forget to bring your letters to Santa for " The Santa Mailbox."

Crafters will also be in town offering everything from handmade blankets, wooden benches, signs, holiday decor, handmade items, candles, melts, and more. Soup, craft and bake sale

BELLEFONTE -- On Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Hadassah Women's Ministry of Zion Community Church is sponsoring a soup, craft and bake sale. The event will take place in the Fellowship Hall located at 3261 Zion Road, Bellefonte. All proceeds will be donated to The Story Tour featuring Suicide Survivor Travis Habbershon with music by The Alan Scott Band.

Elaine Barth in concert

LOCK HAVEN -- Elaine Barth will be in concert on Nov. 19 at the First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven, at 7 p.m. Public is invited.

Coats for kids

ZION -- Zion's Lutheran Church is pleased to be hosting our fourth annual "Coats for Kids" distribution. This FREE coat distribution will be held on Nov. 19 and Nov. 20 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each afternoon. If a young person you know is in need of a winter coat, mittens/gloves, scarf and/or a hat, we highly encourage you to bring that child to Zion's Church in Renovo to be fitted and leave cozy, warm and wearing a big smile. Light refreshments and hot cocoa will be provided. Please come to the back parking lot entrance where our ramp is and enter through the red doors, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thanksgiving Dinner

BEECH CREEK -- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will offer a Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner. It will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and free for all to enjoy. We will offer Take Out, Delivery to surrounding areas and Dine In. Please provide the number of meals requested along with your name, address and phone number and approximate time for delivery. Delivery orders need to be placed by Nov. 22. Beech Creek Wesleyan Church is located at 217 Main St. in Beech Creek

Worship in the Woods

LOCK HAVEN -- Members invite everyone to join us for Christmas Worship in the Woods at Big Woods Bible Church, 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven, that will be running every Friday and Saturday night in December starting at 6 p.m. every 30 minutes until 9 p.m. This outdoor display of lights has over 8,000 LED lights that are synchronized to music. Our volunteers will help park you and bring you hot chocolate and cookies. You will stay right in your car and will be given instruction on how to tune in so that you can listen and enjoy the music depicting the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.

If you'd like to know more about Jesus and his gift to each one of us, we invite you to join us on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. for our Christmas Eve Service at 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven.

Free Community Holiday Meal

HOWARD -- A free holiday meal will take place Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard. Preordered take out meals can be picked up ONLY from 4 – 5 p.m. Take out meals must be preordered by Sunday, Nov. 26, by calling or texting 814-625-2182. Dine-In (with no take outs available) will be from 5:15 – 7 p.m. Meal includes: Roast pork, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, filling, vegetables, cole slaw, apple sauce and dessert.

Candle Walk

MARSH CREEK -- Marsh Creek BIC Church will be holding a Christmas Candle Walk at the church along Summit Hill Road, Howard, on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. Organizers are asking for all "the girls" who were candle walkers over the years to be a part of this special service. Choir concert

RENOVO -- Renovo Area Community Choir will present a concert beginning at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 7th St., Renovo. The public is invited!

Hanging of the Greens

MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main Street, Mill Hall, is having a HANGING OF THE GREENS service on the first Sunday of Advent, Dec. 3.

This special service will take place during our regularly scheduled church service at 10:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome. As we tell the Christmas story and explain why we use certain decorations and the meaning of each, the Christmas items will be brought forth and our sanctuary will be transformed right before our eyes.

During the service members will be lifting their voices and singing many Christmas carols also.

Winter Chocolate Festival

AVIS -- The Grace Fellowship Church is hosting their third annual Winter Chocolate Festival on Dec. 9 from 1-5 p.m. Whether you love chocolate or don't (they don't judge!), there's something for everyone. There will be hot chocolate with all the fixings, kids crafts, chocolate fountains with many options to dip in, outdoor fire pits for s'mores, Santa's workshop, photos and vendors! Santa Visit

HOWARD -- Take a picture with Santa for Free on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St, Howard. Santa is coming back again this year to the church fellowship hall, so tell all the parents of little kids you know. Instead of going to the Mall, waiting in line, and paying $20-$30 for a picture, bring your own camera or smartphone and get a picture with Santa for free! There will be refreshments and each child will receive a small gift from Santa. Leave a message at 814-625-2362 if there are any questions. .

Holiday Sing-Along

DUNNSTOWN -- Dunnstown United Methodist church invites the public to a holiday sing-along featuring the Twisted Racquet-Tears on Sunday, Dec. 17, from 2-4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. The church is located at 59 Church St., Dunnstown. Call Joe at 570-748-9139 for info.

Bible Study

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., will host Sunday night Bible study beginning from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The study will take place for several weeks and is focusing on the book of Daniel. Everyone is invited to attend.

Sing-alongs

MILL HALL -- Mill Hall Presbyterian Church holds sing-alongs the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Each runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary and features old favorites. The public is invited. Songbooks are provided with Kay Bossert leading and Pam Blesh playing the piano.

Hymn sings

MILL HALL -- Those who are interested in singing old hymns that our grandparents sang are invited to sing at Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. For questions, call 570-726-4112 and leave a message.

The church is handicap accessible with lots of parking behind the church. Refreshments are served before the service. You're invited to worship with us each Sunday morning.

Coffee club & Youth Group

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m. Enjoy coffee and fellowship with others.

The church holds its Youth Group meetings on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. The group is open to grades kindergarten through fourth and also fifth through twelfth. The meeting starts off each Thursday with a meal, followed by a lesson and game time. Call 570-726-8009 for more details.
