Worship in the Woods
LOCK HAVEN -- Members invite everyone to join a Christmas Worship in the Woods at Big Woods Bible Church, 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven, that will be running every Friday and Saturday night in December starting at 6 p.m. every 30 minutes until 9 p.m. This outdoor display of lights has over 8,000 LED lights that are synchronized to music.
Volunteers will help park you and bring you hot chocolate and cookies. You will stay right in your car and will be given instruction on how to tune in so that you can listen and enjoy the music depicting the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.
If you'd like to know more about Jesus and his gift to each one of us, Big Woods Bible Church invites you to join them on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. for a Christmas Eve Service at 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven.
Great Island Services
LOCK HAVEN -- Great Island Presbyterian Church will celebrate Advent in worship every Sunday at 10 a.m., including Christmas Eve morning, Dec. 24. The church will also have its annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7:30 p.m.

Christmas Eve Gathering
LOCK HAVEN -- Common Places Church will hold a Christmas Eve Gathering at the Piper Aviation Museum Community Room at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Candlelight Christmas Eve
The folks at Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, in Mill Hall, are having a candlelight Christmas Eve service with music and scripture at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome! The church is handicap accessible and there is plenty of free parking behind the church.
The sanctuary will be lit with candles and the service will conclude with each person holding a candle while standing in a circle around the sanctuary singing Silent Night.
Communion Service
FLEMINGTON -- St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding a Quiet Christmas Eve candlelight communion service Dec. 24 from 7-8 p.m. Sit quietly and go to the Altar when ready and communion will be offered or stay for the entire hour.
Zoom Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- Patrick Ferris, minister at the Walnut St. Church of Christ, will host a Zoom Bible Study every other Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:15. The goal is to go through the entire Bible in a way that makes each of us think. Everyone is invited and there is no obligation to attend. The next study session will be on Dec. 27. St. Paul's Food Pantry
MILL HALL -- The St. Paul's Food Bank will have a distribution on Wednesday, Dec. 27, from 9-11 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The distribution will include items for New Years' dinner. Don't forget to return your boxes! It is much appreciated. The food pantry serves the Mill Hall/Lamar area to the Centre County line.
Holy Moments in History
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, invites you to participate in a new series that will be held on the first Wednesday of each month over the next four months at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The first meeting will be on Jan. 3, 2024.
The series is being led by Mr. Mike Palischak, a retired history teacher, who will speak about how our forefathers were influenced by their faith in God. This is the second year that Mr. Palischak has offered this study, and it has been very well received throughout the community. The church is handicap accessible and the series is free to attend.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church's Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet at the church at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, for lunch and to view the creative items that are brought in each month. Needleworkers (those who crochet, knit or sew) are a critical part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry's outreach in providing hand-made items that are given to nursing home and personal care home residents and those in hospitals, etc.
Yarn is provided for the needleworkers to use, courtesy of local donations and a grant provided by the Clinton County Community Foundation.
New needleworkers are invited to put your creative talents of crocheting, knitting or sewing to good use with the Prayer Shawl Ministry each month. All skill levels are invited to attend. Revival services and VBS
BELLEFONTE -- Freedom Life Church is kicking off 2024 with three consecutive nights of revival services on Jan. 3, 4 and 5! Beginning at 7 p.m. each night, Freedom Life will offer upbeat worship, Biblical teaching and encouraging community. Newcomers are welcome! The services will occur at its Centre County Campus, located at 113 Sunset Acres, Bellefonte.
Guests who will be speaking at Freedom Nights in 2024 include Josh Payne (Jan 3), Israel Campbell (Jan 4) and Duerre Thomas (Jan 5).
Simultaneously during the revival services, Freedom Life Kids will host a winter Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children ages 5th grade and younger. The three-day theme is "Incredible Race," and children will go on a worldwide exploration to discover God's love for all people of all nations. The 90-minute program will include games, activities, crafts, snacks and fun music!
"The kids will have a blast learning Bible stories that still apply to our lives today!" assures FL Kids Director Shevel Simonetti.

Bible Study
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., will host Sunday night Bible study beginning from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The study will take place for several weeks and is focusing on the book of Daniel. Everyone is invited to attend.
