Church Yard Sales
Curtin United Methodist Church, located at 305 Curtin Village Road, Howard, will have their Spring Yard-N-Bake Sale on April 19-20. On Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be yummy treats, pies, homemade soups, hotdogs and sloppy joes to buy to eat in or take home. Flemington First Church of Christ will hold its annual indoor church yard sale on Friday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be food and drinks available for purchase as well as yard sale treasures.
Singing about the
resurrection of Christ
BEECH CREEK -- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will be hosting a concert -- Singing About the Resurrected Christ! The concert will be The Nelons on Sunday, April 21, at 6 p.m.
The Nelons have performed at The Grand Ole Opry and have had multiple Grammy and Dove Award nominations. But more than awards or applause, it is their heart for people and uncanny gift to communicate God's love that has helped them expand the audience for Gospel music around the world. A concert with The Nelons leaves you encouraged by the message of hope shared from their hearts, warmed by the love of family you feel from the stage and inspired by the beauty, purity and majesty of each lyric they sing.

Ladies Day Out
LOCK HAVEN -- Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W. 4th St., Lock Haven, will be holding its annual free Ladies Day Out on April 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This free ladies day out is a relaxing and refreshing day. Get away from the busyness of life as you relax with friends, share laughter and stories and spend time with God. Join other women at the Ladies Day Out retreat to experience all this and more.
The event will include a light lunch and attendees will receive a goodie bag.
The theme is "How do you respond when the heat is on?"

Lasagna Dinner
RAUCHTOWN -- St. James Lutheran Church, Route 880 and Middle Road, Rauchtown, will hold a Lasagna Dinner on Saturday, April 20, from 4-6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for a donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. The meal will include Lasagna, salad, bread, dessert and beverage for both dine-in or take-out patrons.
Election Day Dinner
JERSEY SHORE -- Primary Election Day Dinner, (Clair D. Thompson Memorial), at First United Methodist Church, 236 S. Main Street, Jersey Shore, will be held on Tuesday, April 23, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.Take Out Meals only with Curbside Pickup on Thompson Street. $10 Donation requested. Menu includes baked ham, sweet potatos, vegetables, cole slaw, a roll with butter, applesauce and cake.
Family Fun Night
BLANCHARD -- Liberty Baptist Church is holding a Family Fun Night on Friday, April 26, at 6 p.m. Fun for all ages, food and games will be available at the church that is located at 100 Bald Eagle St. in Blanchard. Wear your sneakers if you want to play in the gym. Card games, board games and lots of other games will be held in the social room. Come as a family and enjoy the evening. This is a great way to meet new friends.
Crafting group open to all
LOCK HAVEN -- A new crafting group is open to everyone who wants to share in the fun and maybe gain a new skill. Covenant Crafters meets Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., and is open to the general public.
Projects will vary. The crafters are currently doing embroidery cards.

Bible Study

Holy Moments in History
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall invites the community to Holy Moments in History, a series being conducted by Mike Palischak, a retired history teacher who loves history. The final meeting of the series will be on MAY 1 at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The May topic will be Abraham Lincoln. If you are a history buff or would like to know how faith in God has helped develop our country, stop by and listen. Mr. Palischak welcomes questions. Everyone is invited to this fascinating program. There is plenty of free parking to the rear of the church.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church's Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet at the church at noon on Wednesday, MAY 1 , for lunch and to view the creative items that are brought in each month. Needleworkers (those who crochet, knit or sew) are a critical part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry's outreach in providing hand-made items that are given to nursing home and personal care home residents and those in hospitals, etc.
Yarn is provided for the needleworkers to use, courtesy of local donations and a grant provided by the Clinton County Community Foundation.
New needleworkers are invited to put your creative talents of crocheting, knitting or sewing to good use with the Prayer Shawl Ministry each month. All skill levels are invited to attend. Community Closet Opens
HUNTER RUN -- Bargains and Blessings Community Closet will be open for the first sale of the season on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., in the fellowship hall of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, 551 Hunter Run Road, Howard. Enter through the side door off the lower parking lot. This sale will be held rain or shine.
Gently used clothing, shoes and accessories for the entire family are available. Sizes range from infants through 3X, and are priced at $5 per bag full. Bags will be furnished. Free coffee, water and small snacks will also be available.
Bargains and Blessings Community Closet is an outreach ministry of Faith Chapel UMC that serves Beech Creek, Blanchard, Howard and the surrounding areas. All proceeds go back into the community to help families in need.

Free tech class
HOWARD -- St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will host a free technology class covering online prescription drug resources at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 7. The in-person class is led by Mid-State Literacy Council, which is partnering with Senior Planet from AARP to help people age 50 and older learn new online skills.
During the class on online prescription drug resources, participants will learn how to research, purchase, and save on prescription drugs using online tools.

Coffee club & Youth Group
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m. Enjoy coffee and fellowship with others.
