Day of Prayer
BEECH CREEK -- Laurel Run United Methodist Church, 2899 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek, will have their National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2.
The church will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., all are welcome to join in prayer.
Church Yard Sales
Laurel Run United Methodist Church, 2899 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek, will have a Yard and Bake Sale on Friday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Delicious baked goods, clothing, household goods, furniture and so much more to choose from.
St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be having an Indoor Yard and Bake Sale on Friday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sandwiches and yummy desserts will be served for your dining pleasure.
Flemington First Church of Christ will hold its annual indoor church yard sale on Friday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be food and drinks available for purchase as well as yard sale treasures.
Family Fun Night
BLANCHARD -- Liberty Baptist Church is holding a Family Fun Night on Friday, April 26, at 6 p.m. Fun for all ages, food and games will be available at the church that is located at 100 Bald Eagle St. in Blanchard. Wear your sneakers if you want to play in the gym. Card games, board games and lots of other games will be held in the social room. Come as a family and enjoy the evening. This is a great way to meet new friends.
Crafting group open to all
LOCK HAVEN -- A new crafting group is open to everyone who wants to share in the fun and maybe gain a new skill. Covenant Crafters meets Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., and is open to the general public.
Projects will vary. The crafters are currently doing embroidery cards.

Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church at 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Holy Moments in History
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall invites the community to Holy Moments in History, a series being conducted by Mike Palischak, a retired history teacher who loves history. The final meeting of the series will be on MAY 1 at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The May topic will be Abraham Lincoln. If you are a history buff or would like to know how faith in God has helped develop our country, stop by and listen. Mr. Palischak welcomes questions. Everyone is invited to this fascinating program. There is plenty of free parking to the rear of the church.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church's Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet at the church at noon on Wednesday, May 1, for lunch and to view the creative items that are brought in each month. Needleworkers (those who crochet, knit or sew) are a critical part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry's outreach in providing hand-made items that are given to nursing home and personal care home residents and those in hospitals, etc.
Yarn is provided for the needleworkers to use, courtesy of local donations and a grant provided by the Clinton County Community Foundation.
Donations of yarn are always welcomed and accepted for use by the Prayer Shawl Ministry, too!
New needleworkers are invited to put your creative talents of crocheting, knitting or sewing to good use with the Prayer Shawl Ministry each month. All skill levels are invited to attend. Community Closet Opens
HUNTER RUN -- Bargains and Blessings Community Closet will be open for the first sale of the season on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., in the fellowship hall of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, 551 Hunter Run Road, Howard. Enter through the side door off the lower parking lot. This sale will be held rain or shine.
Gently used clothing, shoes and accessories for the entire family are available. Sizes range from infants through 3X, and are priced at $5 per bag full. Bags will be furnished. Free coffee, water and small snacks will also be available.
Bargains and Blessings Community Closet is an outreach ministry of Faith Chapel UMC that serves Beech Creek, Blanchard, Howard and the surrounding areas. All proceeds go back into the community to help families in need.

Free tech class
HOWARD -- St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will host a free technology class covering online prescription drug resources at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 7. The in-person class is led by Mid-State Literacy Council, which is partnering with Senior Planet from AARP to help people age 50 and older learn new online skills.
During the class on online prescription drug resources, participants will learn how to research, purchase, and save on prescription drugs using online tools.

Hillview Wesleyan to
hold movie night
FLEMINGTON -- Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W. 4th St., Flemington, will hold a movie night on Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m. The night will feature a screening of "The Shift."
According to a synopsis of the film: Kevin Garner (Kristoffer Polaha) travels across worlds and dimensions to reunite with Molly (Elizabeth Tabish), the love of his life. A mysterious adversary known as The Benefactor (Neal McDonough) upends Kevin's world as he tries to escape an alternate dystopian reality. "The Shift" is a 2023 American Christian science fiction thriller film written and directed by Brock Heasley and starring Kristoffer Polaha, Neal McDonough, Elizabeth Tabish, Rose Reid, John Billingsley, Paras Patel, Jordan Alexandra and Sean Astin. It is a loose adaptation of the Book of Job.
Ham and Turkey Dinner
BASTRESS -- Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Bastress, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, off Route 654, will be having a Country Style Ham and Turkey Dinner on Sunday, May 19, from noon - 6 p.m. The meal will consist of ham and turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, noodles, salad, bread and dessert. The cost is $12 per meal for adults, $6 per meal for children ages 4-12. Children under 4 are free. Takeout meals are available after 1 p.m. Takeout meals are $12 per meal. In addition to the dinner, sandwiches, french fries and ice cream are available in the concession stand. There will be small games of chance as well.

MILL HALL -- Mill Hall Presbyterian Church holds sing-alongs the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Each runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary and features old favorites. The public is invited. Songbooks are provided with Kay Bossert leading and Pam Blesh playing the piano.
Coffee Club & Youth Group
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m. Enjoy coffee and fellowship with others.
The church holds its Youth Group meetings on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. The group is open to grades kindergarten through fourth and also fifth through twelfth. The meeting starts off each Thursday with a meal, followed by a lesson and game time. Call 570-726-8009 for more details.
