Holy Spirit Parish Fair
The Holy Spirit Parish will take place at the St. Agnes Church Grounds, 3 East Walnut St., Lock Haven, PA on Thursday, June 6, Friday June 7 and Saturday, June 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be great food, theme baskets, baked goods, fun games and a new band each night!
Learn how kids, adults
can read Bible together
LOCK HAVEN -- A new kind of family Bible study is offered Tuesday evenings at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Kids of all ages and their favorite adults are welcome to read and learn from the Bible together.
Parents, godparents, aunts, uncles, grandparents can use this course to share their faith with the children in their lives.
"Families Studying the Bible Together" is held Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in the church assembly room. Use the front door of the older, more formal section of the building. There is cafe seating, and a ramp entrance is available.
In the first few sessions, Pastor Justin Frear will cover strategies for families to share Bible readings so that both children and adults can understand the passages. He will then lead a study of the Book of Proverbs using these strategies. The study concludes sometime in June.

Church Yard Sales
JERSEY SHORE -- A Yard Sale will be held at the Oriole Church, 39 Main Road, Jersey Shore, on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Pine Run Bible Church is having a rummage sale on Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The church is located at 1719 Pine Run Road, Linden, Pa.
Hillview Wesleyan to hold
movie night
FLEMINGTON -- Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W. 4th St., Flemington, will hold a movie night on Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m. The night will feature a screening of "The Shift."
According to a synopsis of the film: Kevin Garner (Kristoffer Polaha) travels across worlds and dimensions to reunite with Molly (Elizabeth Tabish), the love of his life. A mysterious adversary known as The Benefactor (Neal McDonough) upends Kevin's world as he tries to escape an alternate dystopian reality. "The Shift" is a 2023 American Christian science fiction thriller film written and directed by Brock Heasley and starring Kristoffer Polaha, Neal McDonough, Elizabeth Tabish, Rose Reid, John Billingsley, Paras Patel, Jordan Alexandra and Sean Astin. It is a loose adaptation of the Book of Job.
Drive up Dinner
Renovo First UM Church, 7th Street, is having a drive up Ham BBQ dinner from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, May 13. The ham BBQ, ¼ pound served on a roll, homemade baked beans, pepper slaw, macaroni salad and dessert, all for $12.
Orders can be placed by calling ahead from 2-4 p.m. at 570-923-1313 or you can drive up and place your order from 4-6 p.m. Orders can be picked up between 4-6 p.m. by using the 8th Street entrance and turn towards 7th Street at the alley. Come to the back porch of the church and get your meals there.
Mother's Day Service
Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, is having a special Mother's Day message prepared about a very extraordinary mother who taught a young polio child how to walk. This true story will tug at your heart strings. Come hear this remarkable story and share with other's the special bond of motherhood.
And, on the lighter side, we will also attempt to answer the age-old questions -- Do mothers really have eyes in the back of their heads? How did God make mothers? What ingredients are mothers made of?
All these questions and more will be answered at our Mother's Day service, on Sunday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. Come early for coffee and a sweet treat. Pastor Susan will warmly welcome you.
Community Closet Opens
HUNTER RUN -- Bargains and Blessings Community Closet will be open on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., in the fellowship hall of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, 551 Hunter Run Road, Howard. Enter through the side door off the lower parking lot. This sale will be held rain or shine.
Gently used clothing, shoes and accessories for the entire family are available. Sizes range from infants through 3X, and are priced at $5 per bag full. Bags will be furnished. Free coffee, water and small snacks will also be available.
Bargains and Blessings Community Closet is an outreach ministry of Faith Chapel UMC that serves Beech Creek, Blanchard, Howard and the surrounding areas. All proceeds go back into the community to help families in need.

Free Car Show
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ will host a Free Car Show on Sunday, May 19, from 12-3 p.m.
No fee for Car entry, just come on out for a great afternoon. Hot dogs and water will be provided.
Crafting group open to all
LOCK HAVEN -- A new crafting group is open to everyone who wants to share in the fun and maybe gain a new skill. Covenant Crafters meets Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., and is open to the general public.
Projects will vary. The crafters are currently doing embroidery cards.

Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church at 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Ham and Turkey Dinner
BASTRESS -- Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Bastress, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, off Route 654, will be having a Country Style Ham and Turkey Dinner on Sunday, May 19, from noon - 6 p.m. The meal will consist of ham and turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, noodles, salad, bread and dessert. The cost is $12 per meal for adults, $6 per meal for children ages 4-12. Children under 4 are free. Takeout meals are available after 1 p.m. Takeout meals are $12 per meal. In addition to the dinner, sandwiches, french fries and ice cream are available in the concession stand. There will be small games of chance as well.

MILL HALL -- Mill Hall Presbyterian Church holds sing-alongs the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Each runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary and features old favorites. The public is invited. Songbooks are provided with Kay Bossert leading and Pam Blesh playing the piano.
Coffee club & Youth Group
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday morning from 8:30-10 a.m. Enjoy coffee and fellowship with others.
The church holds its Youth Group meetings on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. The group is open to grades kindergarten through fourth and also fifth through twelfth. The meeting starts off each Thursday with a meal, followed by a lesson and game time. Call 570-726-8009 for more details.
