Every person in this world needs truth, trust and transformation! So, how do we attain Truth, how do we learn to Trust and in what ways can we experience Transformation? Let us explore Scripture together and I believe we will have the answers to all three of these questions!
The first thing we will look at is the idea of truth.
Truth that is absolute, perfect and unchanging comes from one source. The word of God is our one and only source of truth, incorruptible and unchanging with time or culture.
John 8:31-32 says then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, "If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
The truth sets us free. There is no denying that having access to absolute and unchanging truth gives us all a rock-solid foundation to build our faith upon each and every day. We are free and our feet rest on the Solid Rock of Truth!
Once we establish the truth in our lives, we must then learn to trust the truth of God with everything we have!
Proverbs 3:5-6 promises the results of trusting in the truth. Verse 5: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
Trusting God is a constant struggle in this life. We know His ways are greater than our ways, we know His plans are the best plans possible, we know His wisdom is the only wisdom worth pursuing and yet our pride so often tells us that there is a better way to walk, talk and live.
We cannot overcome this pride that holds us back on our own, but that is precisely why our God transforms us by the power of Jesus Christ and His saving grace!
Now that we have established the truth and learned to trust God, we are ready to experience the Transformation that is only possible in Jesus Christ! We find this process of transformation highlighted throughout Scripture. Romans 12:2 is a well-known and well quoted passage when it comes to the process of transformation found in God's word: "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may [b] prove what the will of God is, that which is good and [c] acceptable and perfect."
Do we know truth? Are we willing to trust God? Are we ready to be transformed? I believe that for everyone reading this right now the answer to these three questions will change our lives forever.
May we strive now together and spur one another on as we journey into truth, trust and transformation in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
