Governed by ‘ifs’

We are governed by “Ifs.” Let me explain this.

IF you do not complete the requirements for finishing high school then you do not attain a diploma.

IF you do not perform the necessary actions and pass a test then you do not receive a driver’s license.

Lastly, IF you do not arrive for work on time and complete the task given you then you will not get paid.

Each one of these and many more give you choices for the “IF — then circumstances.

In 1 John 1:5-10 God declares His examples of these truths. “IF we claim that we share life with Him, but keep walking in the realm of darkness (then) we are only fooling ourselves and not living the truth. But IF we keep living in the pure light that surrounds Him (then) we share unbroken fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus His Son continually cleanses us from all sin. IF we boast that we have no sin, (then) we are only fooling ourselves and we are strangers to the truth. But IF we freely admit our sins when His light uncovers them, then He will be faithful to forgive every time. IF we claim that we are not guilty of sin when God uncovers it with His light, (then) we make Him a liar and His Word is not in us.” (TPT 1 John 1:5-10).

In addition to these, but definitely the greatest scripture with the most impact on our lives, is Romans 10:9; If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, (then) you will be saved.

Needless to say that our actions and words cause results; good and bad.

Thus the witness for the If — Then law on our lives and the life giving instructions that they give when followed, will produce the peace, the freedom we seek and give Glory to God.
