Trombone Concert
HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church will host the Penn State Trombones in a mini-concert at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, and on Sunday, Feb. 16. The Penn State musical students will be playing during the church service. Come hear the students playing and drop a few dollars into their trombone case to encourage them and to help with their expenses.
Grief Support
LOCK HAVEN -- Community Grief Support is a new opportunity for men and women to gather and seek help together. The next meeting will be on Jan. 28. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. in the lounge of Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
The support group is free, confidential and open to anyone. There is no work book to follow and no end date. It is designed to become an established, long-term program.
Sharon Gensib and Pamela Brauchli are the facilitators. They will open each session but the discussion will go where the group takes it.
Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church at 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Holy Moments Series
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will be starting their Holy Moments in History series on Feb. 5. Retired history teacher Mike Palischak will lead the program. Mike has chosen William Penn as his first topic of historical individuals who influenced our country through their faith. Come learn all about William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, on Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Additional seminars featuring a different historical figure will be held on the first Wednesday of each month. Bald Eagle UP Church is located at 111 Main St., Mill Hall, with plenty of free parking to the rear of the church.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- Come join the members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry of Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. PSM meets the first Wednesday of each month at noon. We'll look at all of the beautiful creations of crocheted and knitted items that have been brought in by our needleworkers. There will also be a light lunch provided.
If you'd like to become a part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please come! We welcome all skill levels to help us in our ministry. If you don't know how to crochet or knit, we have people who will show and mentor you through your learning experience.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry also accepts donations (monetary as well as yarn or cotton material) to continue our ministry. If anyone would like to donate clean, cotton material, it would certainly be appreciated and will be used to create machine sewn quilts for children's beds.

Free Clothing
BELLEFONTE -- Light of the World Clothing Bank at St. John's United Church of Christ, W. Linn St., Bellefonte, will be open on Friday, Feb. 7, from 2:30-5 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon. Clothing in all sizes from infants to adults, shoes, purses, accessories, bedding, afghans and more. Everything is free. Soup Sale and Luncheon
Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard, will offer a community soup sale on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 2025, Eat in or take out. Soups available are vegetable beef, ham and bean, chicken corn and chicken noodle. Quarts for take out should be preordered by the Sunday prior to the luncheon by calling Patti at 814-625-2182. Soup comes in freezable containers. Cost is $8 for lunch or quarts of soup. Proceeds from soup sales are designated to local missions in the area. Invite a friend, come for lunch and enjoy a time of good food and fellowship while supporting a worthy cause!

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ will host a Bean and Bailey Comedy Show on March 14 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45, ticket cost is a donation only.
