Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church at 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Trombone Concert
HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church will host the Penn State Trombones in a mini-concert at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16. The Penn State musical students will be playing during the church service. Come hear the students playing and drop a few dollars into their trombone case to encourage them and to help with their expenses.
Soup Sale and Luncheon
HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard, will offer a community soup sale on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eat in or take out. Soups available are vegetable beef, ham and bean, chicken corn and chicken noodle. Quarts for take out should be preordered by Sunday, Feb. 16, by calling Patti at 814-625-2182. Soup comes in freezable containers. Cost is $8 for lunch or quarts of soup. Proceeds from soup sales are designated to local missions in the area. Invite a friend, come for lunch and enjoy a time of good food and fellowship while supporting a worthy cause!
Grief Gathering
HOWARD -- St. Mark Lutheran Church (850 Snydertown Road, Howard) is hosting a Grief Gathering at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20. The gathering offers a chance for anyone experiencing or going through grief or sadness of any kind to be with others and share our stories. McELHATTAN -- Hoodie Hoo Day with Pathway to Christ Church. Meet at the red light in McElhattan and enjoy a luncheon at noon. Wear your hoodies and come chase away the wintertime blues with church members and Pastor Laura.
Fresh Doughnut Sale
JERSEY SHORE -- Trinity United Methodist Church is having a fresh, homemade doughnut sale on Thursday, Feb. 20. It's best to call and pre-order your doughnuts on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 570-397-2913. Extra doughnuts are made and available for sale to walk-ins starting at 7 a.m. on sale day and lasting until 4 p.m., or until they are sold out.
The cost is $7 per dozen or $3.50 for six. The church is located at 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Use the Glover St. entrance for doughnut pick-up or walk-in sales.
Grief Support
LOCK HAVEN -- Community Grief Support is a new opportunity for men and women to gather and seek help together. The next meeting will be on Feb. 25. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. in the lounge of Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
The support group is free, confidential and open to anyone. There is no work book to follow and no end date. It is designed to become an established, long-term program.
Sharon Gensib and Pamela Brauchli are the facilitators. They will open each session but the discussion will go where the group takes it.
Sportsman Banquet
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ will host a sportsman banquet on Friday, March 7, with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are available for $15 each and can be purchased at the door or by calling the church office at 570-726-8009.
Take-out Soup Sale
FLEMINGTON -- St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be having a Take-out Soup Sale on Saturday, March 8. Chicken corn and vegetable beef will be the soup of choice, take-out orders only. Price of soup will be $7 for each quart. Pre-orders should be placed by calling the church at 570-748-5741 and leaving a message with your name, flavor of soup, and how many quarts you would like. Orders should be picked up at the church on March 8 from 10 a.m. until noon.
Comedy Show
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ will host a Bean and Bailey Comedy Show on March 14 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Ticket cost is a donation only. Reserve your tickets soon.
