Spaghetti Dinner
JERSEY SHORE — Oriole Methodist Church, 39 Main Road, Jersey Shore, will be holding a dine-in or take out spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets cost $6.50 for adults, $4 for children ages 3 to 12 and children under 3 eat for free.
Lenten Fish Fries
LOCK HAVEN — Holy Spirit Parish, Lock Haven, will continue to offer their annual drive-thru Lenten Fish Fries from March 28 and continuing every Friday during Lent except Good Friday, from 4-6 p.m., on the grounds of the Parish Center at St. Agnes Church.
The menu features Haddock (Yeungling beer battered or baked), mac and cheese, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Meals are $15 and individual sides of fish or mac and cheese will be offered. The church invites you to its “EZ DRIVE THRU” for a delicious meal prepared by its parish family. The church parish thanks you for your continued support.

Lenton Fish Fries
BELLEFONTE — Bellefonte Friday Night Fish Fries at St. John’s Catholic School (116 E. Bishop St.) will be on the following Fridays of Lent: March 28, April 4 and April 11. We will be open to the public from 4-7 p.m. The menu will consist of baked lemon pepper cod (GF), Yuengling beer battered haddock or Panko crusted fried shrimp, your choice of three sides of french fries, macaroni & cheese, stewed tomatoes, cole slaw, or apple sauce and a homemade dessert. Ala Carte items, including Haluski and Pierogies with butter and onions, will also be available. Eat in or Take Out! CASH ONLY. The cost is only $14 for adults; $7 for children under 12 and under 6 eat for free. Come experience Centre County’s largest Fish Fry, prepared and served by the Bellefonte Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters of the America’s.
Spring Craft Show
FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ will hold a Spring Craft Show on March 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be over 30 local vendors as well as food for sale.
Book Author Visit
SNYDERTOWN — On Dec. 31, 2012, Mack Brady died from a blood infection just 16 days shy of his ninth birthday. Now more than a decade later, Mack’s mother, Elizabeth Brady, has written a book, “Oil for Your Lantern: Sharing Light after the Death of a Child,” which details her grief journey after losing her son and how her faith guided her.
Elizabeth, who is an associate teaching professor of Communication Arts and Sciences in the College of the Liberal Arts at Penn State, will visit St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, on Saturday, March 29, to talk about her experiences and her book. The event begins at 11 a.m. and will include a time for questions and answers. Brady will also be signing books. Books will be available to purchase at the event for $15, while supplies last.
King of Kings

Donations needed
McELHATTAN — The Pathway to Christ Church is taking donations in support of Sleep in Heavenly Peace in Lock Haven. They are collecting twin size sheet sets, twin mattress covers (must have zipper), pillows, blankets and throws. Drop off will be at Pathway To Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan Pa. Drop off times will vary so please contact BJ at bpeters388@comcast.net for times or if you have any questions. The items are being collected during the months of March and April.
Holy Moments
Mill Hall — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church is continuing their Holy Moments in History series on April 2. Retired history teacher Mike Palischak leads the program. Mike has chosen Martin Luther, a German monk who started the Protestant Reformation, as his topic of historical individuals who influenced our country through their faith. Come learn all about Martin Luther on April 2 at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Afterwards, stay for a coffee/tea and fellowship time. The public is encouraged to ask Mike questions and to share their thoughts during and after the Holy Moments hour. Palischak is planning one more topic in the Holy Moments in History series on May 7. Bald Eagle UP Church is located at 111 Main St., Mill Hall, with plenty of free parking to the rear of the church.
Prayer Shawl Ministry Meeting
Mill Hall — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting on April 2 beginning at noon. The public is invited to come to the church to see all of the beautifully handcrafted items that the PSM needleworkers have produced over the last month. More needleworkers, those who crochet or knit, are invited to join the PSM group.
Lunch is provided. Donations of yarn are needed and accepted at the church for the needleworkers to continue their talent of creating beautiful pieces that are then donated to those in need.
The church is also a drop off location for the Easter stuffed animals (bunnies, chicks, lambs) that are being collected until April 9 for distribution to area hospitals during the Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club’s Annual Bunny Run. Stuffed animals must be new and have the manufacturer’s tag attached.
The church has been given a quilt that they are taking sealed bids on. The person with the highest bid will be awarded the quilt, with the proceeds going towards buying more yarn for needleworkers to use. Stop by the church on Sunday morning to see the quilt and if you’re interested in giving a sealed bid just put your name, address, telephone number and your bid amount on a slip of paper and insert it into a sealed envelope and hand to Pastor Susan. Bids will be opened in June and the winner will be notified to make their payment and pick up the quilt.
Pot Pie Fundraiser
WINGATE — Wingate Faith Church is holding a ham and chicken pot pie sale on Monday, April 7, from 4 p.m. until sold out. Quarts of pot pie with bread samples will be $9 each. Place your pre-orders by calling Janette at 814-883-0893 anytime. Pickup is by drive-thru service in the church parking lot starting at 4 p.m. on April 7. Walk-in sales are welcomed until they’re all sold out! This is the last pot pie sale until the fall, so stock up. The pot pie comes in freezable containers. The church is located at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte (which is just behind the Sheetz Store near the BEA High School).
Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN — God’s Eternal Life Church at 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Grief Support
LOCK HAVEN — Community Grief Support is a new opportunity for men and women to gather and seek help together. The next meeting will be on April 8. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. in the lounge of Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
The support group is free, confidential and open to anyone. There is no work book to follow and no end date. It is designed to become an established, long-term program.
Sharon Gensib and Pamela Brauchli are the facilitators. They will open each session but the discussion will go where the group takes it.
Hymn Sing
Dunnstown — United Methodist Church in Dunnstown will be having a Hymn Sing on April 6 at the church. Featuring the Twisted Racquet Tears Band, the hymn sing will run from 2-3:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. For more info call Joe at 570-748-9139

Trombone Concert
HOWARD — Howard United Methodist Church will host the Penn State Trombones in a mini-concert at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 27. The Penn State musical students will be playing during the church service this Sunday. Come hear the students playing and drop a few dollars into their trombone case to encourage them and to help with their expenses.
