Annual Community Yard Sale

SNYDERTOWN -- As part of the Snydertown community-wide yard sale, St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, invites people to park at the church as they walk along Snydertown Road to check out the yard sales being held today. The church also will have an indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be selling food and refreshments, including breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, barbecue, soup and baked goods. All money from St. Mark's indoor yard sale and food sale will go to St. Mark's Social Action Committee and Food Pantry. CEF Easter Party

MILL HALL -- Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. will be holding an Easter Party on Saturday, April 12, from 2-4 p.m., for kids 5 years old thru fifth grade. Easter Bazaar

HOWARD -- Howard Christian Church Benevolence will have their annual Easter Bazaar on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the church, 367 Walnut St., Howard. There will be handcrafted gifts, baked goods, peanut butter eggs and more! Sheri, Kevin and their friends are again making their homemade ham potpie and selling it for $9 a quart. Pre-orders must be placed by calling/text to Sheri at 814-876-2910. Proceeds from the Easter Bazaar are used to help local neighbors in need.

Palm Sunday program

MARSH CREEK -- Join the congregation at Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church on Palm Sunday, April 13, at 9 a.m. for the children and teens special re-enactment of "The Last Supper". The program will also include foot washing, readings and songs. The church is located at 417 Summit Hill Road, Howard. Avenue in concert

BEECH CREEK -- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will host Avenue in concert on Saturday, April 12, at 6 p.m. Avenue is a renowned Christian music group celebrated for their award-winning and chart-topping hits. Based in Nashville, Tenn., this powerful team consists of Kasey Kemp, Haley Kemp and Jonathan Mattingly, each bringing their unique talents to create a dynamic and impactful sound. The concert is free. An offering will be received for Avenue.

Holy Week Services

SNYDERTOWN -- St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will be holding several worship services and events during Holy Week. It begins with Palm/Passion Sunday on April 13, with worship starting at 10:30 a.m. A coffee hour will follow the service.

Worship for Maundy Thursday on April 17 is at 7 p.m., and worship for Good Friday on April 18 is at 7 p.m. Also on April 18, St. Mark hosts an Easter Party for kids and families from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The party will include food and activities. Celebrate Easter on April 20 with St. Mark's Easter Sunday worship, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Sleep in Heavenly

Peace donations

McELHATTAN -- The Pathway to Christ Church is taking donations in support of Sleep in Heavenly Peace in Lock Haven. The church is collecting twin size sheet sets, twin mattress covers (must have zipper), pillows, blankets and throws. Drop off will be at Pathway To Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. Drop off times will vary so please contact BJ at bpeters388@comcast.net for times or if you have any questions. The items are being collected during the month of April.

Grief Gathering

SNYDERTOWN -- St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, hosts its next Grief Gathering on Thursday, April 24, starting at 6 p.m. The gathering offers a chance for anyone experiencing or going through grief or sadness of any kind to be with others and share our stories. Prayer Shawl Ministry Meeting

MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting on May 7 beginning at noon. The public is invited to come to the church to see all of the beautifully handcrafted items that the PSM needleworkers have produced over the last month. More needleworkers, those who crochet or knit, are invited to join the PSM group.

Lunch is provided. Donations of yarn and money are needed and accepted at the church for the needleworkers to continue their talent of creating beautiful pieces that are then donated to those in need.

Donut Sale

JERSEY SHORE -- Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, will be holding a fresh, homemade donut sale on Thursday, April 17. This will be the last donut sale until laster this fall. Donuts cost $7 for a dozen or $3.50 for half a dozen and may be pre-ordered by calling 570-398-2913 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Extras are made available starting at 7 a.m. the day of the sale and are available until 3 p.m. or sold out. Please use the Glover Street entrance when you pick up your orders.

Bible Study

LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church at 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Grief Support

LOCK HAVEN -- Community Grief Support is a new opportunity for men and women to gather and seek help together. The next meeting will be on April 22. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. in the lounge of Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven.

The support group is free, confidential and open to anyone. There is no work book to follow and no end date. It is designed to become an established, long-term program.

Sharon Gensib and Pamela Brauchli are the facilitators. They will open each session but the discussion will go where the group takes it.

Trombone Concert

HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church will host the Penn State Trombones in a mini-concert at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 27. The Penn State musical students will be playing during the church service this Sunday. Come hear the students playing and drop a few dollars into their trombone case to encourage them and to help with their expenses.

Turkey Supper

Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren will hold a Take-out Only Turkey Supper on May 3 from 4-6 p.m., or until sold out. The meal will feature roasted turkey, filling, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls and homemade desserts. The cost will be a donation of your choosing. Holy Moments

MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church is continuing their Holy Moments in History series on May 7. Retired history teacher Mike Palischak leads the free program. Mike has chosen Teddy Roosevelt as his topic of historical individuals who influenced our country through their faith. Come learn all about Teddy Roosevelt at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Afterwards, stay for a coffee/tea and fellowship time. The public is encouraged to ask Mike questions and to share their thoughts during and after the Holy Moments hour. This is the last seminar for this year, but we look forward to having Mike return next spring for more Holy Moments in History. Bald Eagle UP Church is located at 111 Main St., Mill Hall, with plenty of free parking to the rear of the church.
