Memorial Service

HOWARD -- Memorial services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery on Sunday, May 18, beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor Dave Etters will be the speaker for the memorial service.

Fairview Church (and the adjoining cemetery) is located at the intersection of Fairview Road, Bullit Run Road and Curtin Hollow in Boggs Township, rural Howard.

Church yard sale

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ will hold their annual yard sale on Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding a Lunch and Bake sale during the Flemington Townwide Yard Sale on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. St. Luke's kitchen will be serving soup, sandwiches, St. Luke's Walking Tacos and desserts. Food will be available for eat-in or take-out.

Bible Study

LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church at 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Hat Show

McELHATTAN -- Pathway to Christ Church is McElhattan will be having a Hat Show on Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m., at the church. Join Linda Danis as she presents "The Great Cover Up HAT Show and Tea." Men and women are invited to wear your favorite hat and join the fun! Snacks will be provided.

Turkey Supper

SUGAR VALLEY -- Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren will hold a Take-out Only Turkey Supper on May 17 from 4-6 p.m., or until sold out. The meal will feature roasted turkey, filling, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls and homemade desserts. The cost will be a donation of your choosing. The proceeds will benefit Missions. To reserve take-out meals or for more info call Kim at 570-725-3767. (Originally this meal was set for May 3, but because of unfortunate circumstances, the meal has been rescheduled and will now be held on May 17. Please mark your calendar of the date change.)

Holy Moments

MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church is continuing their Holy Moments in History series on May 7. Retired history teacher Mike Palischak leads the free program. Mike has chosen Teddy Roosevelt as his topic of historical individuals who influenced our country through their faith. Come learn all about Teddy Roosevelt at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Afterwards, stay for a coffee/tea and fellowship time. The public is encouraged to ask Mike questions and to share their thoughts during and after the Holy Moments hour. This is the last seminar for this year, but we look forward to having Mike return next spring for more Holy Moments in History. Bald Eagle UP Church is located at 111 Main St., Mill Hall, with plenty of free parking to the rear of the church.

Prayer Shawl Ministry Meeting

MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting on May 7 beginning at noon. The public is invited to come to the church to see all of the beautifully handcrafted items that the PSM needleworkers have produced over the last month. More needleworkers, those who crochet or knit, are invited to join the PSM group.

Lunch is provided. Donations of yarn and money are needed and accepted at the church for the needleworkers to continue their talent of creating beautiful pieces that are then donated to those in need.

Grief Support

LOCK HAVEN -- Community Grief Support is a new opportunity for men and women to gather and seek help together. The next meeting will be on May 13. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. in the lounge of Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven.

The support group is free, confidential and open to anyone. There is no work book to follow and no end date. It is designed to become an established, long-term program.

Sharon Gensib and Pamela Brauchli are the facilitators. They will open each session but the discussion will go where the group takes it.

Immaculate Conception Dinner

BASTRESS -- Immaculate Conception Parish, along Jacks Hollow Road off Route 654 in Bastress, will hold its annual country style ham and turkey dinner on Sunday, May 18, from noon to 6 p.m. The meal will consist of ham and turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, noodles, salad, bread and dessert. The cost is $13 per meal for adults, $6 per meal for children ages 4-12. Children under four are free. Takeout meals are available after 1 p.m. Takeout meals are $13 per meal. In addition to the dinner, sandwiches, french-fries, funnel cakes, sandwiches, ice cream/milkshakes and soda are available on the grounds, as well as a few small games of chance and Bingo, too.

Blanchard Church of Christ's services are Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with Sunday School from 10-10:45 a.m.

Big Woods Bible Church, 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven, hosts its weekly worship services at 9 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday School begins at 10:45 a.m.

Charlton Chapel, 46 Church Hill Road, Lock Haven, an Independent Bible Church, invites you to worship service each Sunday at 9 a.m.

Dunnstown United Methodist Church, 59 Church St., invites the public to worship with its members each Sunday. Sunday School Bible Study begins at 8:45 a.m., and morning worship service begins at 10 a.m.

Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jacksonville, invites you to join their Sunday morning services at 9 a.m. with Pastor Cindy Killinger.

First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven, invites everyone to Sunday morning services at 9 a.m.
