It was with great honor and humility that our Church, Pathway to Christ Church, chose Sleep in Heavenly Peace as one of our community outreach programs this year. Sleep in Heavenly Peace's mission is "No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!" Sleep in Heavenly Peace is an organization that builds and delivers beds and a safe place to sleep. A chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is located right here in Lock Haven. Every bed built by a SHP volunteer represents comfort, security and hope for a child who may have been sleeping on the floor. The impact of a good night's sleep cannot be overstated -- it affects a child's health, education and overall well-being -- and this is where Pathway members, families and friends stepped up to supply sheet sets, mattress covers, pillows and blankets. Pastor Laura Gilbert, at right, of Pathway to Christ Church was honored to present these many items to Sleep in Heavenly Peace's Laura Orndorf, Chapter President, at far left, and Linda Hinman, Bedding Coordinator, at center, on Sunday, May 3, following the morning church service.
