Pathway to Christ Church volunteers at food bank

McELHATTAN — Congregational members of the Pathway to Christ Church proudly volunteer at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, packing boxes of food for various programs the food bank provides for.

Collaborating with local partners and programs, the food bank serves over 250,000 people each month. Some of these programs include their Youth Program (school pantry and backpack program), Elder Share/Senior Program and their Military Share Program that serves Veterans and their families.

According to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank 1 in 9 adults and 1 in 7 children in Central Pennsylvania are experiencing food insecurity (www.centralpafoodbank.org).

Church members travel monthly to 3301 Wahoo Drive in Williamsport to pack boxes full of food to help fight hunger, improve lives and strengthen communities in Central Pennsylvania. The fellowship and satisfaction Pastor Laura Gilbert and her team experiences each month is awesome!

The group had fun adding their painted hands to the wall of “volunteers” at the warehouse where they fill boxes of food. All part of the Pa. Food Banks honorary thank you wall.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Food Bank, please contact Grant Fillman, Volunteer Project Manager, at www.centralpafoodnbank.org and at the top of the page tap on “volunteer” to fill out the form.
