Worship in the Park
Come as you are to worship with Woolrich Community Church in Woolrich Park at Pavilion #1 on Sunday, June 29, at 9:45 a.m. Handicap parking is available by the pavilion. A pot luck lunch will be served following the morning worship service. Be sure to bring a chair or blanket to sit on for the worship service so you're more comfortable.
Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church, 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Summer Concert Series
LAMAR -- Lamar Lighthouse Camp will be hosting their Summer Concert series each Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Each of the concerts is free and open to the public. A love offering is taken each week to further the ministry of both the groups performing and Lamar Lighthouse Camp. The Cragun Family will be in concert on June 29. The Foresters will be entertaining on July 6 followed by Divinity Trio on July 13.

News from the Pathway pews
MCELHATTAN -- Pathway to Christ Church has been collecting items and monetary donations for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lock Haven (across from KFC) to support the church's Helping Hands mission. Helping Hands provides items such as toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, cleaning products, laundry detergent, dental care, trash bags, hair care items, body and hand soap, dish detergent and more to senior citizens and low income families. If you'd like to donate any of the needed supplies or if you don't have time to shop and want to donate money and have someone do the shopping for you, that can happen this week yet!
Pathway Church volunteers will be making sticky buns again for pick-up at the church on Aug. 2. The sticky bun orders must be placed before July 18. A dozen of plain sticky buns will be $10, and if you want nuts added to your dozen then the cost would be $12. To place your sticky bun order send an email to Jane at cwhite173@comcast.net.
The church will be having a drive thru meal on Aug. 2 as well and you can get your meal at the same time as picking up your sticky buns. The meal will consist of a pulled pork sandwich with slaw, baked beans, macaroni salad and cake. The cost will be whatever donation you can afford to provide. The drive thru meal and sticky bun pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pathway to Christ Church will also be having a craft and small business vendor fair on Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors of all varieties are invited to set up at this outside event. Food will also be available in the church social hall during the vendor fair. The church wants to have a parking lot full of craft vendors and small business vendors for this sale. Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting on Wednesday, July 2, beginning at noon. The public is invited to come to the church to see all of the beautifully handcrafted items that the PSM needleworkers have produced over the last month. More needleworkers, those who crochet or knit, are invited to join the PSM group.
Lunch is provided. Donations of yarn and money are needed and accepted at the church for the needleworkers to continue their talent of creating beautiful pieces that are then donated to those in need.
The church has a ramp and is handicap accessible and is located at 111 Main St., in Mill Hall, with plenty of free parking to the rear of the church. Call Pastor Susan at the church office at 570-726-4112 for more info on the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is very pleased with the proceeds that have been raised from the two double bed sized quilts that were made and donated by Joyce Busch, of Newmanstown. Busch provided the quilts with the intent that they could be sold and the money used to buy more yarn that the needleworkers will need to keep them busy creating items that many organizations rely on.
One of the quilts was raffled off a few months ago at the Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club and raised $68.
The second quilt, shown being held by Brenda Masden (left) and Pastor Susan Champion, was being offered to the highest sealed bidder. Four bids were received, ranging in price from $50 to an amazing amount of $500, that were opened at the June PSM meeting. The highest bidder, a lady from Beech Creek, wants to remain anonymous, but she was thrilled to know that she's getting the quilt and that her $500 donation is going to provide yarn for the needleworkers to continue to make more of the many items that are then given (free of charge) to individuals, families and groups in our area.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry makes hats, scarves and mittens in all sizes for kids and adults, along with blankets, lap robes and prayer shawls for folks that are in nursing homes, hospitals and homeless shelters. Baby sweaters with hats and blankets are also made for infants that are given to the newborns at area hospitals and the nic units at Geisinger in Danville.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry needleworkers use approximately $300 each month of yarn to make their beautiful and useful creations.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry asks for your continued support of their mission by providing donations of yarn that can be brought to the church and money. Monetary donations may also be mailed to the church office, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, PA 17751. Be sure to mark PSM-Yarn on the memo line of your check.
Food Distribution
BELLEFONTE -- Food distribution will be on Thursday, July 3, from 4-6 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte. There aren't any income guidelines but a few questions are asked for those attending for the first time.
Mark your calendar that the next food distribution at St. John's will be on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Blood Drives
Local churches are hosting blood drives during the month of July. Blood donors of all types are invited to participate. To find a blood drive being held near you visit the American Red Cross website.
A blood drive will be held on Monday, July 7, from 1-6 p.m., at Tri County Church in Mill Hall.
On Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a blood drive will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, Hughes St., Bellefonte.
Grief Support
LOCK HAVEN -- Community Grief Support is a new opportunity for men and women to gather and seek help together. The next meeting will be on July 8. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m. in the lounge of Covenant United Methodist Church, 44-46 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
The support group is free, confidential and open to anyone. There is no work book to follow and no end date. It is designed to become an established, long-term program.
Sharon Gensib and Pamela Brauchli are the facilitators. They will open each session but the discussion will go where the group takes it.
VBS at Walnut St.
Church of Christ
LOCK HAVEN -- The Walnut Street Church of Christ, 714 W. Walnut St., is inviting the area's youth to our Vacation Bible School. The theme, "Heroes of the Faith," is about those in the Bible with great faith. The VBS will be July 24-25 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with a short program on July 27 at 11 a.m. There are two age groups: Ages 5-8 and 9-12.
