LOCK HAVEN — The Walk by Faith walking program will be meeting, weather permitting, each Wednesday evening and you are invited to join the group, both for the exercise and for fellowship time together. The walks take about one hour where you can walk at your own pace or with a friend to get fresh air and exercise, all while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.

On Sept. 24, at 6 p.m., the walkers will meet at the Old Train Station for a walk on the Bald Eagle Valley Trail.

On Oct. 1, at 6 p.m., the walk will be on the McElhattan Old River Road. Meet in the parking lot.

News from the Pathway pews

MCELHATTAN — Pathway to Christ Church has Bible Study every Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the social hall at Pathway to Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. Everyone is welcome to join us to study the word and share good fellowship together.

Pathway to Christ Church is currently collecting boxes of Cheerios that will be given to the Jersey Shore Care and Share food pantry at St. John Lutheran Church. The food pantry has a goal to get 900 boxes of Cheerios before the end of October. Your donation of boxes of Cheerios can be brought to the church on Sunday morning or on Tuesday evening during the Bible study. Together, we can provide this breakfast food for many local families that utilize the food pantry.

Come volunteer with us at the Food Bank in Williamsport! Carpooling is available from the church parking lot, leaving at 4:30 p.m. We help at the food bank on the third Thursday of each month — so the next food bank would be on Oct. 16. Last month our volunteers packed 320 boxes of food for hungry families! You can become a part of this outreach with us. If you’re interested in learning more, just send an email to bpeters388@comcast.net. Volunteering warms the heart and you’ll be happier for having done something to help others!

The church members asked me to THANK everyone who supported their meatloaf meal (fundraiser) earlier in September. The funds raised will help the church continue with their outreach mission of helping others in the community.

More outreach activities are planned for October, including a (curbside pickup) chicken bbq meal on Oct. 11 and a Pumpkin Patch and Fall Hayride set for Oct. 19. More info will be coming!

Yarn Collection

MARSH CREEK — Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church is collecting new and used yarn that will be donated to the Prayer Shawl Ministry for their needleworkers to use. Three ladies of the church are actively involved with the Prayer Shawl Ministry and are leading the campaign to collect as much yarn as they can during the month of September.

Yarn can come in the form of new skeins purchased from a local venue, partial skeins or even small balls or scraps of yarn that people may have stored. Even unfinished projects that we can tear out or add to can be used, as long as the yarn is clean and free of smoke or other harsh smells.

Marsh Creek BIC Church invites other churches and individuals of the area to collect yarn and bring it (or call for pick-up) for delivery to the Prayer Shawl Ministry in the Mill Hall area.

For more info on this yarn collection, call Rhoda at 814-625-2760.

THANK YOU for those who have already called and donated yarn. We will take it all year long if you just want to give us a call.
