Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church, 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. Christmas Craft Show
FLEMINGTON -- The Christmas Craft Show will be on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Flemington First Church of Christ on Canal Street. The church will have over 40 vendors along with food from the kitchen including homemade soups.
Soup Sale
HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church will have a soup sale and luncheon at the church on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The flavors of soup are vegetable beef, ham and bean, chicken corn and chicken noodle. A sit-down lunch with a bowl of soup, salad, roll, pie and beverage is $10. Quarts of soup for take-out are $9. Pre-orders for take-out soup are best and can be placed by calling Patti at 814-625-2182.
Proceeds from the soup sale will be used for local outreach missions. Howard UM Church is located at 144 W. Main St., Howard. It's on the corner by the Wetzler Funeral Home.

MCELHATTAN -- Pathway to Christ Church invites you to be a volunteer with their congregation members at the Food Bank in Williamsport! Carpooling is available from the church parking lot, leaving at 4:30 p.m. We help at the food bank on the third Thursday of each month, so the next chance for you to volunteer with us will be on Nov. 20. If you're interested in learning more, just send an email to bpeters388@comcast.net.
Pathway to Christ Church has Bible Study every Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the social hall at Pathway to Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. Everyone is welcome to join us to study the word and share good fellowship together.
Blood Drives
Local churches will be hosting blood drives over the next several weeks. Blood donors of all types are invited to participate. To find a blood drive being held near you visit the American Red Cross website.
Blood drives will be held on the following dates:
On Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Faith UM Church in Bellefonte.
On Dec. 10, from 1-6 p.m., at Cedar Heights Church in Mill Hall.
On Dec. 16, from 12:30-6 p.m., at Wingate Faith Church, Runville Road, Bellefonte.
Thanksgiving Service
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Liberty Church, 637 Island Rd., Lock Haven, will host a Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
Free Thanksgiving dinner
BEECH CREEK -- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will be having their annual Free Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be options of dine in, take out or delivery. Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- The Prayer Shawl Ministry met on Nov. 5 at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall. There were more than 30 needleworkers attending and each brought many lovely items that they have made over the last month.
Currently the needleworkers are making afghans and lap robes to restock after the annual Knit N' Run in October. We're also making hats for Robb Elementary children that will be distributed later in December. The PSM also plans to make hats for a classroom in the Penns Valley area that will be delivered in January.
If you crochet or knit and would like to become involved with the PSM, we'd love to have you!
Donations of new or used yarn are always accepted and can be brought to the church during the PSM meetings or by making arrangements with Pastor Susan.
Ollie's in Mill Hall has a nice supply of yarn (Red Heart #4) variegated skeins that can be purchased and donated to the Prayer Shawl Ministry for the needleworkers to use. The skeins are of really nice colors, many of which will make great afghans, prayer shawls, hats and scarves that the PSM donated to more than 25 local organizations.
The next Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at noon. A light lunch is provided. We'll be having a gift exchange in December. Those attending should bring a wrapped gift in the $10 price range.
