Laurel Run Church

New Year's Sauerkraut
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall will have a free New Year's Day sauerkraut meal for the community. Those interested in eating sauerkraut with hotdogs can come to the rear of the church between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to get your free take-out meals. Just drive in the alley at the rear of the church, tell the greeter how many meals you'd like and they will be delivered right to your car. The meal is free, but donations are gratefully accepted to continue the church's mission outreach. Call 570-726-4112 for more info on the sauerkraut meal.
Pot pie dinner
MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will be having a homemade pot pie sale on Feb. 21. The ham pot pie is $10 a quart. To guarantee you get, it's best to pre-order by calling the church office at 570-726-4112. Leave your name and how many quarts you would like on the answering machine if Pastor Susan isn't there to take your call. To eliminate the wonder of what to have for dinner, stock up on the freezable quarts of pot pie.
St. Luke's United
St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be having a Quiet Communion Candlelight service on Christmas Eve from 6:30-7:30 p.m. You are welcome to come and stay for the entire service or to stay as long as you wish. Please plan to attend this very beautiful service.
Cookbook Sale
Laurel Run Church, 2899 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek, has created a beautiful family cookbook with many shared and loved recipes. Covenant Choir concert is Sunday
LOCK HAVEN -- Music connects us to the spirit of the season, and tomorrow you can feel that joy during the Covenant United Methodist Church Choir's annual Christmas concert.
The concert is set for 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary at 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. An elevator is available.
Kay E. Knarr-Fisher directs the choir, and will play piano during the concert. Church pianist/organist Conrad D. Schlesinger will participate and also present a viola solo.
Other notable musicians include the Men's Choir, and Carol Yorks and Martha Rowedder, vocalists and ukulele. Ms. Rowedder will also play the flute.
Additional choir members are Sarah Frear, Dale Haines, Kathy Innes, Donna Johnston, Jeff Johnston, Renee Miller, Ron Miller, Mary Raab, Sandy Randall, Dr. Mark Rowedder and Dennis Shawley.
Selections include familiar carols and more: "Carols, Rejoice", "Celtic Advent Carol", "The Shepherd's Spiritual", "Another Christmas Medley", "Away in a Manger (Forever Amen)", "Silent Night", "Long, Long Time Ago", "Umoja Tunaimba (United We Sing)", "Jingle Bells Festivo" and "A Christmas Festival".
Refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall. Everyone is cordially invited.
News from the Pathway pews
MCELHATTAN -- Pathway to Christ Church has Bible Study every Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the social hall at Pathway to Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. Everyone is welcome to join us to study the word and share good fellowship together.
The church is currently collecting toys for families in the area who have a need at Christmastime. The toy collection is part of the church's outreach mission of helping others.
Pathway to Christ Church invites you to be a volunteer with their congregation members at the Food Bank in Williamsport! Carpooling is available from the church parking lot, leaving at 4:30 p.m. We help at the food bank on the third Thursday of each month. If you're interested in learning more, just send an email to bpeters388@comcast.net. Some months they are short staffed at the food bank so if you'd like to volunteer, please reach out to BJ Peters and she and other church members will be glad to have you come along!
Children's Christmas Program

Live Nativity
WINGATE -- Wingate Faith and Fleming Free Methodist are once again proud to present a Live Nativity, "The Reason for the Season," on Saturday, Dec. 20, and Sunday, Dec. 21. Show times each evening are at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This Live Nativity is a 20-minute outdoor moving live presentation with narration and music of the Nativity story, featuring live animals and characters. Join us and celebrate The Reason for the Season! Invite your friends and neighbors. This is a free program for the community that is held at the Eagle Towing & Recovery, 1049 S. Eagle Valley Road, Bellefonte. Eagle Towing is located along PA 150/220 S., just past the Bald Eagle Area High School.
Bleacher seating is available, or bring your own lawn chair. Grounds are handicap and wheelchair accessible. Dress warm and bring a blanket as evening temperatures get chilly this time of year.

Blood Drives
Local churches will be hosting blood drives over the next several weeks. Blood donors of all types are invited to participate. To find a blood drive being held near you visit the American Red Cross website.

Also on Dec. 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Flemington First Church of Christ, Mill Hall.
Blue Christmas Service
HOWARD -- Special service welcomes anyone who feels grief or desires quiet and peace this time of year. St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will hold its annual Blue Christmas worship service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The service is for anyone who feels grief, weariness, fatigue or just wants some quiet and peace during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. All are welcome to come.
There are so many reasons this time of year can feel heavier. Sometimes, the brightness of the season only deepens the ache. St. Mark's Blue Christmas Service is a gentle, low-key time of worship, a quiet space held within the peace of the Christmas story and the deep hope it still offers.

The Christmas Dilemma
MILL HALL -- The Nittany/Sugar Valley, Clintondale and Mackeyville Charge will be performing a wonderful Christmas play called, "The Christmas Dilemma." David Benner plays the part of the innkeeper, with Dawn Herlocher playing the part of his wife. The play follows when an infant Savior arrives, five ordinary people find their lives upended and forever changed. In this ensemble, the stories of Mary, Joseph, a Wise Man, a Shepherd and the Innkeeper all point to the miraculous birth of Jesus and the impact His life will have on them and the world. The show will be presented at the Clintondale United Methodist Church, 103 Fishing Creek Road, Mill Hall, on Saturday, Dec. 20, with shows at 2 and 6 p.m. There is no charge and the event is open to the public. Please plan to come and be inspired to share the joy of the season.
