Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL — The Prayer Shawl Ministry needleworkers will be gathering on Wednesday, April 1, at noon, at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, for their monthly meeting. Members of the public and those who like to crochet or knit are encouraged to attend the meeting. There is plenty of free parking to the rear of the church and a ramp makes for easy access into the church social room. A light lunch is provided for those who attend.
Needleworkers are given yarn each month to take home and create projects that are then given to more than 25 organizations in the area. The needleworkers vary in different skill levels and there is always an abundance of beautiful items (hats, scarves, prayer shawls, lap robes and afghans) that are brought in each month. If you are wanting to learn to crochet or knit, come out to the meeting and some of our skilled crafters will help you.
We are looking forward to having Pastor Laura Gilbert and members of the Pathway to Christ Church in McElhattan join us for the April 1 meeting. The church has been collecting yarn from their congregation members over the past month that will be presented to the needleworkers during the meeting.
Donations of yarn are always needed and can be used. Whether you have scraps of yarn, new skeins of yarn or if you want to buy a Walmart gift card or give a cash donation that can be used to buy more yarn, the Prayer Shawl Ministry can use your donations.
For more info on the Prayer Shawl Ministry call Pastor Susan at the church office at 570-726-4112.

Holy Moments
In honor of our nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026, Mike Palischak has decided to do another Holy Moments in History lecture. The lecture will be on Wed. April 15, at 10 a.m., at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall. Palischak has chosen his topic to be about the Father of our Country, George Washington, and the battle for New York in 1776.
Palischak will share with his listeners about how the British had sent their fighting forces to crush Washington and his army, trying to put an end to the American cause for Independence.
The British, led by General Howe and his Brother Admiral Howe, came perilously close to achieving their objective. Although Washington suffered a major defeat, several things happened that prevented complete capitulation. Washington would lose control of New York and be forced to retreat across New Jersey into Pennsylvania, but their hope of Independence persevered. As events unfolded, Washington and his army became energized and breathed new life into their dream of Independence.
You won’t want to miss this historical moment in history as we celebrate the inspiration our forefathers had and the events that led to the foundation of Independence for the United States of America.
