Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- The Prayer Shawl Ministry needleworkers gathered on April 1, at noon, at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, for their monthly meeting. A light lunch was provided for those who attended.
Thank you to folks who recently brought in yarn donations. We are grateful to a SVBT Club member whose wife (because of illness) cannot work with yarn anymore and so they thought of donating the yarn to our Prayer Shawl Ministry. Another gentleman also brought two bags full of new yarn to the church to donate to us as well. The PSM is extremely thankful for all of the yarn donations, store gift cards and the money that is given to us that is used to buy more yarn when needed.
Needleworkers are given yarn each month to take home and create projects that are then given to more than 25 organizations in the area. The needleworkers vary in different skill levels and there is always an abundance of beautiful items (hats, scarves, prayer shawls, lap robes and afghans) that are brought in each month. If you are wanting to learn to crochet or knit, come out to the next meeting and some of our skilled crafters will help you.
If your church or group would like to help with a yarn collection (as the Pathway to Christ Church in McElhattan recently did) for the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please contact Pastor Susan. We have some poster boards with photos along with some samples that we would be willing to loan you to aid in your collection efforts for us!
The next Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 6, beginning at noon.
Call Pastor Susan at the church office for more info at 570-726-4112.
