‘One Nation Under God’ rededication: A call to remember and honor

As our nation approaches the celebration of its 250th anniversary, we are reminded that the foundation of the United States of America is deeply rooted in faith, hope and a dependence upon God. In recognition of this historic milestone, the Clinton County Ministerium invites the community to gather for a special time of reflection and rededication at Triangle Park on Sunday, May 17, from 1-4 p.m.

Scripture reminds us in Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” These words are not only a declaration, but also a reminder of the covenant relationship that brings blessing, guidance, and purpose to a people who acknowledge God as sovereign.

Throughout our nation’s history, there have been defining moments when leaders and citizens alike turned their hearts toward God — seeking His wisdom, provision and protection. From the earliest days of our founding, there has been an understanding that true strength and liberty are not sustained by human effort alone, but by a reverence for God and a commitment to His principles.

The upcoming “One Nation Under God” Rededication Event is more than a celebration — it is a sacred opportunity. It is a time for our community to come together in unity, to remember the spiritual heritage that has shaped our nation and to renew our commitment to honoring God in our lives, our families and our communities.

This gathering will include prayer, reflection and community participation, along with a special recognition of students who have expressed their understanding of “One Nation Under God” through art. It is our hope that this event will inspire both young and old to consider what it truly means to live as a people under God’s guidance.

As we commemorate 250 years as a nation, let us not only celebrate our history, but also look forward with renewed faith. A nation that remembers God is a nation positioned for blessing. The people who honor Him establish a legacy that extends far beyond generations.

We warmly invite all members of the community to join us at Triangle Park on May 17, from 1-4 p.m., for this meaningful occasion. Together, let us stand in unity, gratitude and faith, declaring once again that we are — indeed — One Nation Under God.
