Hope in an unchanging savior

Hebrews 13:8 — “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”

In a world that constantly changes, the Word of God — the Holy Bible — reminds us that Jesus Christ remains the same forever. What He was 2,000 years ago, He still is today. Jesus is the Savior of the world. He is still the Lord of lords and King of kings. He is still the Deliverer and the Healer. He still saves, forgives sins, and gives eternal life. He is the author of our salvation and the perfecter of our faith. And one day, He is coming again.

Because He never changes, we can place our complete trust in Him. He never fails. He is always faithful and true. Jesus not only lived a sinless life, but He rose again as the resurrected Christ. He is able to save us, deliver us from sin and fill us with His Spirit.

He is able to direct our lives and care for our needs. He is still the way, the truth and the life. He is the Alpha and Omega — the beginning and the end.

In a world filled with loss, trouble and uncertainty, we have an anchor for our souls that keeps us secure and strong. Jesus Christ is able to comfort us in the storms of life. He gives strength in times of weakness and hope in moments of despair. Even in seasons of stress and challenge, we can experience His peace and love. His Word remains true, and His promises never fail.

What a blessing it is to know Jesus Christ in a nation founded 250 years ago with reverence for God and faith in His guidance. The United States of America has a rich Christian heritage reaching back to even before our founding as an independent nation on July 4th, 1776. We enjoy freedoms of religion, speech and many democratic liberties. We are greatly blessed as a nation.

Most importantly, Jesus Christ made a way for every person to know God personally and to experience a relationship with Him. Jesus has never changed, and His salvation and peace are still available today.

In uncertain times, we can still find peace, strength and lasting hope in Jesus Christ.

As we celebrate the birth of this great nation of ours, may we also experience the miracle of new life through Jesus Christ and the goodness and blessings of God. Let us always remember that true hope, lasting peace, and eternal life are found in Jesus Christ alone. May we not only rejoice in the greatness of this country, but also recognize the greatness of our God.

May we truly remain one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
