HOWARD -- Faith Chapel Church in Hunter Run is taking their Bargains and Blessings Community Closet on the road to the Friendship Community Center, 127 Main St., Beech Creek, on Saturday, Aug. 8. This will be a Back to School event, offering a lot of nice clothing for students and teachers to return to school wearing. Clothing is available in all sizes, from infants to 3X. Shoes and accessories are also offered. The cost is just $5 for a bag full of items. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Summer Concerts
LAMAR -- Lamar Lighthouse Camp will be having their Summer Concert Series each Sunday evening through Sept. 27. All of the concerts begin at 6 p.m. and are free, with a love offering taken during the service.
The concert will feature Avenue on Aug. 9. On Aug. 16 Chosen 4:13 will take the stage, followed by New Journey and on Aug. 30 the Silers will be entertaining.

Tropical Trek Vacation
Bible School
ANTES FORT -- Antes Fort United Methodist Church, Main Road, Antes Fort, will hold its Tropical Trek Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, Aug. 9, through Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Registration for the program, which will include Bible stories, games, music and crafts, will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday. This VBS is for ages three years old to eighth grade.

Rain Forest Falls
WOOLRICH -- Caldwell/Woolrich Charge of UMC will be holding their annual Vacation Bible School Aug. 10-14, at Woolrich Community Church. Rain Forest Falls is the theme where we learn all the amazing things God has done in His creation which we are a part of through songs, games, stories and science. Sessions start at 5:30 p.m. and end by 8 p.m. A meal each night will be provided and children with allergies will be accommodated. Visit the church's Facebook page to preregister or register when you bring your child. Ages 5-12 years old are included in the general session and there is a special Pre-K class. Each night has a new focus, so if you cannot make it every night, no problem. Come join in the fun and learn about God's beautiful world of the rain forest.
Walk by Faith
LOCK HAVEN -- Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, has announced the schedule for its 2026 Walk by Faith program. The program will run each Wednesday at 6 p.m., weather permitting. Walk at your own pace, get lots of fresh air and fellowship with one another while enjoying the beauty of God's creation. Just show up on the scheduled dates and bring a friend. Questions can be directed to Fran Decker at 570-263-2084.
On Aug. 12, the walk will be on the Pine Creek Rails to Trails. Meet in the parking lot at Jersey Shore.
On Aug. 19, the walk will be at the Wayne Township Nature Park in McElhattan. Meet at the pavilion on the left.
On Aug. 26, the walk will be at the Bald Eagle Valley Trail. Meet at the former train station.
St. Paul Food Pantry
MILL HALL -- St. Paul Food Pantry, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, (1 mile north of the I-80 interchange on Route 64), is open the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 9 to 11 a.m. No documentation is required. Blood Drives
Local churches will be hosting blood drives over the next several weeks. Blood donors of all types are invited to participate. To find a blood drive being held near you visit the American Red Cross website.
Blood drives will be held on the following dates:
Aug. 11, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Wingate Faith Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte.
Aug. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Flemington First Church of Christ, Canal St., Mill Hall.
St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington will be holding a Red Cross Blood Drive, at the church, on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The drive will be between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, or you may schedule an appointment on the Red Cross website at www.redcrossblood.org. St. Luke's will be serving its world famous root beer floats.
Summer Outdoor Concerts Series
SNYDERTOWN -- St. Mark Lutheran Church's Summer Outdoor Concert series draws to a close on Friday, Aug. 14, when Fishers of Men will perform. This is the first time the group has played at St. Mark's and we're expecting a great concert experience for both the group and those attending.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with food and the fire pit started to roast hot dogs, Smores and more. Music begins at 6:30 p.m. under the pavilion at St. Mark, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard. You are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket, food to share if you like and are able, and to just enjoy some music and time with those of our community.
If there is rain, the concert will be moved indoors.
