End of Summer Bash
LOCK HAVEN -- Holy Spirit Parish invites the community to its End of Summer Bash on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 4 to 9 p.m., at St. Agnes, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven.
The evening will feature food, local vendors, family-friendly activities and Bingo from 6-9 p.m. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
Vendor spaces are still available. Anyone interested in participating as a vendor or seeking additional information may contact the Holy Spirit Parish office at 570-748-4594.
Bring your family and friends and join us for a fun evening as we celebrate the end of summer together.
Summer Concerts
LAMAR -- Lamar Lighthouse Camp will be having their Summer Concert Series each Sunday evening through Sept. 27. All of the concerts begin at 6 p.m. and are free, with a love offering taken during the service.
On Aug. 16 Chosen 4:13 will take the stage, followed by New Journey on Aug. 23 and on Aug. 30 the Silers will be entertaining.

Clothing Center Open

Blood Drives
Local churches will be hosting blood drives over the next several weeks. Blood donors of all types are invited to participate. To find a blood drive being held near you visit the American Red Cross website. Walk-ins are welcome, or you may schedule an appointment on the Red Cross website at www.redcrossblood.org.
Blood drives will be held on the following dates:
Aug. 17, from 12:30-6 p.m., at New Hope Lutheran Church, Spring Mills.
Aug. 25, from 12-5:30 p.m., at Watermarke Church, Zion Road, Bellefonte.
Also on Tuesday, Aug. 25, a blood drive will be held at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Flemington The drive will be between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
St. Luke's will be serving its world famous root beer floats at its blood drive this month.
Helping Hands
LOCK HAVEN -- Helping Hands will be open on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the United Evangelical Lutheran Church, behind Kentucky Fried Chicken, in Lock Haven. Helping Hands provides free cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items to low income families and seniors in the Lock Haven and surrounding area. Walk by Faith
LOCK HAVEN -- Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, has announced the schedule for its 2026 Walk by Faith program. The program will run each Wednesday at 6 p.m., weather permitting. Walk at your own pace, get lots of fresh air and fellowship with one another while enjoying the beauty of God's creation. Just show up on the scheduled dates and bring a friend. Questions can be directed to Fran Decker at 570-263-2084.
On Aug. 19, the walk will be at the Wayne Township Nature Park in McElhattan. Meet at the pavilion on the left.
On Aug. 26, the walk will be at the Bald Eagle Valley Trail. Meet at the former train station.
Mobile Food Pantry
BEECH CREEK -- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will host the New Love Center's Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Individuals are invited to come into the church for a short pre-registration before obtaining the free food. Bring along any small boxes or reusable bags that you might have for transporting your food items in lieu of using the pantry's supply of plastic bags.
Pathway News
MCELHATTAN -- Pathway to Christ Church has Bible Study every Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the social hall at Pathway to Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. Everyone is welcome to join us to study the word and share good fellowship together.
The church is partnering with Wayne Township in celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Independence. Wayne Township and the church will be offering 3D wooden 250th Anniversary ornaments for $7 each or 2/$12.
Pathway to Christ Church invites you to be a volunteer with their congregation members at the Food Bank in Williamsport on Aug. 20. Carpooling is available from the church parking lot, leaving at 4:15 p.m. The Williamsport Food Bank distribution is held on the third Thursday of each month and the church always helps there. Food Pantry open Aug. 26
MILL HALL -- St. Paul Food Pantry, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, (1 mile north of the I-80 interchange on Route 64), is open the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 9 to 11 a.m. No documentation is required. Bible Study
LOCK HAVEN -- God's Eternal Life Church, 30 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, is holding weekly Bible studies each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The topic will be Thru the Bible Word for Word. We're up to the book of Romans now, and will be learning about the meaning of the New Covenant. Please feel free to join our Bible Studies.

Food Bank open
MILESBURG -- Milesburg Food Bank is open from 1-3 p.m on Tuesday, Sept. 1. This food distribution is held the first Tuesday of each month at the Milesburg Presbyterian Church.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
MILL HALL -- The Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at noon, at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall. The needleworkers will be showing their blue, red and white ribbons that they earned at the Clinton County Fair this month.
Anyone who would like to learn to crochet or knit is invited to join us for our meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at noon and our skilled needleworkers will be glad to coach and encourage you in your learning process. If you already know how to work with yarn and want to become a needleworker with us, come to our next meeting. A light lunch is always provided (free of charge) to those who attend our PSM meetings.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry relies on monetary donations as well as yarn donations. Whether it be new skeins of yarn or partially used skeins, we can use it as long as it is clean and smoke-free. Yarn donations can be left under the ramp at the rear of the building or by calling Pastor Susan at the church office at 570-726-4112.
Food distribution
BELLEFONTE -- Food distribution will be on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 4-6 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte. Labor Day picnic
WILLIAMSPORT -- Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Bastress, on Jacks Hollow Road, off Route 654, will be holding their annual Labor Day Picnic on Monday, Sept. 7, from noon to 5 p.m. The picnic will include country style ham and turkey dinner. In addition to the dinner, sandwiches, french fries, funnel cakes, ice cream and soda are available on the grounds, as well as a few games of chance and Bingo. There will also be a variety of homemade jams, jellies and fudge for sale in the summer kitchen. Bingo will be held in the basement of the Parish Hall. Bargains & Blessings
HOWARD -- Faith Chapel Church in Hunter Run is taking their Bargains and Blessings Community Closet on the road to the parking lot of Advanced Family Chiropractic, 3076 Eagle Valley Drive, Mill Hall, on Saturday, Sept. 12. Bargains and Blessings will be offering a lot of nice clothing for all ages. Clothing is available in all sizes, from infants to 3X. Shoes and accessories are also offered. The cost is just $5 for a bag full of items. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pot Pie Sale
WINGATE -- Wingate Faith Church will be starting their pot pie sales and running them throughout the fall months. The pot pie comes in both ham or chicken flavors and also comes with samples of homemade bread. The pot pie sells for $9 a quart and is available for pickup at the church beginning at 4 p.m. on the sale dates, until sold out. Come early if you haven't pre-ordered beforehand.
The first pot pie sale will be on Monday, Sept. 14. Mark your calendar for the remaining fall pot pie sales that will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, and also on Monday, Nov. 9.
It's best to pre-order your quarts of pot pie by calling Janette at 814-883-0893.
