Summer Concerts

LAMAR -- Lamar Lighthouse Camp will be having their Summer Concert Series each Sunday evening through Sept. 27. All of the concerts begin at 6 p.m. and are free, with a love offering taken during the service.

On Aug. 30 the Silers will be entertaining.

Concerts in September will be South of Mason, Tru Vintage and the Fuller Family Singers. GloryWay will bring the last concert of the summer on Sept. 27.

Lockport Drifters to sing

at local churches

The Lockport Drifters will be playing a gospel show on Sunday at 8:45 a.m. at Covenant UM Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven.

At 10:45 a.m., the Lockport Drifters will be playing a gospel show at Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis.

The public is invited to each of the churches for the gospel concerts.

Blood Drives

Local churches will be hosting blood drives over the next several weeks. Blood donors of all types are invited to participate. To find a blood drive being held near you visit the American Red Cross website. Walk-ins are welcome, or you may schedule an appointment on the Red Cross website at www.redcrossblood.org.

Blood drives will be held on the following dates:

Sept. 1, from 12:30-6 p.m., at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Grays Woods Blvd., Port Matilda.

Sept. 3, from 12:30-6 p.m., at Centre Church, E. College Ave., Pleasant Gap.

Sept. 8, from 12:30-6 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church, Front St., Philipsburg.

Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Faith United Methodist Church, Bellefonte.

Sept. 14, from 1-6 p.m., at Holy Spirit Parish, East Walnut St., Lock Haven.

Sept. 18, from 12:30-5 p.m., at Albright United Methodist Church, Loganton.

Walk by Faith

LOCK HAVEN -- Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, has seen participation in its 2026 Walk by Faith program over the summer months. The walks are enjoyed each Wednesday at 6 p.m. Participants can walk at their own pace, get lots of fresh air and fellowship with one another while enjoying the beauty of God's creation.

-- Sept. 2, McElhattan Old River Road. Meet in the parking lot.

-- Sept. 9, Pine Creek Rails to Trails. Meet in the parking lot at Jersey Shore.

-- Sept. 23, Bald Eagle Valley Trail. Meet at the former train station.

-- Sept. 30, McElhattan Old River Road. Meet in the parking lot.

Food Bank open

MILESBURG -- Milesburg Food Bank is open from 1-3 p.m on Tuesday, Sept. 1. This food distribution is held the first Tuesday of each month at the Milesburg Presbyterian Church.

Clothing Center Open

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ's Clothing Center will be open every Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. For more information call Dyann Shilling at 570-263-2726.

Pathway News

MCELHATTAN -- Pathway to Christ Church has Bible Study every Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the social hall at Pathway to Christ Church, 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. Everyone is welcome to join us to study the word and share good fellowship together.

On Sunday, Aug. 30, Pastor Laura Gilbert will hold outdoor services with a potluck luncheon following. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music and good fellowship.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

MILL HALL -- The Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at noon, at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall. The needleworkers will be showing their blue, red and white ribbons that they earned at the Clinton County Fair this month.

Anyone who would like to learn to crochet or knit is invited to join us for our meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at noon and our skilled needleworkers will be glad to coach and encourage you in your learning process. If you already know how to work with yarn and want to become a needleworker with us, come to our next meeting. A light lunch is always provided (free of charge) to those who attend our PSM meetings.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry relies on monetary donations as well as yarn donations. Whether it be new skeins of yarn or partially used skeins, we can use it as long as it is clean and smoke-free. Yarn donations can be left under the ramp at the rear of the building or by calling Pastor Susan at the church office at 570-726-4112.

Food distribution

BELLEFONTE -- Food distribution will be on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 4-6 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 216 McAllister St., Bellefonte. There aren't any income guidelines but a few questions are asked for those attending for the first time. For more info on these food distributions, call Leilani "Loni" at 814-548-7835.

Labor Day picnic

WILLIAMSPORT -- Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Bastress, on Jacks Hollow Road, off Route 654, will be holding their annual Labor Day Picnic on Monday, Sept. 7, from noon to 5 p.m. The picnic will include country style ham and turkey dinner. In addition to the dinner, sandwiches, french fries, funnel cakes, ice cream and soda are available on the grounds, as well as a few games of chance and Bingo. There will also be a variety of homemade jams, jellies and fudge for sale in the summer kitchen. Bingo will be held in the basement of the Parish Hall. Tickets will be $14 for adults; $6 for children ages 4-12. Younger children will be free. Takeouts are available starting around 12:30 p.m. For more info call Jeremy Lazorka at 570-337-3440.
