Prayer Shawl Ministry brings home blue ribbons

MILL HALL -- The Prayer Shawl Ministry met on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at noon, at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall.
A variety of our items had been entered into the Clinton County Fair's needlecrafts, afghans, quilts and handcrafts divisions. This year we had 20 ladies enter. (In 2025, during our first year of entering items, we had seven ladies participate.) We were excited to learn that we had won numerous blue, red and white ribbons at the fair for our creations entered this year.
We were thrilled to have Pat's friend Velda join our group this month. Velda brought a beautiful afghan that she'd made along with several hand warmers, which was perfect timing because Pastor Susan had taken a call from the dialysis center asking for more handwarmers. Dialysis patients have extremely cold hands and arms and these hand warmers really help!
Anyone who would like to learn to crochet or knit is invited to join us for our meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at noon and our skilled needleworkers will be glad to coach and encourage you in your learning process. If you already know how to work with yarn and want to become a needleworker with us, come to our next meeting. A light lunch is always provided (free of charge) to those who attend our PSM meetings.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry relies on monetary donations as well as yarn donations. Whether it be new skeins of yarn or partially used skeins, we can use it as long as it is clean and smoke-free. Yarn donations can be left under the ramp at the rear of the building or by calling Pastor Susan at the church office at 570-726-4112.
