DUNNSTOWN -- Dunnstown United Methodist Church will begin a new Sunday School study on Sunday, Oct. 4, featuring Adam Hamilton's book, "The Lord's Prayer: The Meaning and Power of the Prayer Jesus Taught."
Sunday School begins at 8:45 a.m. at Dunnstown United Methodist Church, 59 Church St., Lock Haven.
This study invites participants to look beyond simply reciting the familiar words of the Lord's Prayer and discover the deeper meaning behind the prayer Jesus taught His disciples.
Hamilton explores each phrase of the prayer and challenges us to consider what we are asking of God -- and how those words can shape the way we live each day.
Throughout the study, participants will explore themes including:
-- Our Father, Who Art in Heaven, Hallowed Be Thy Name
-- Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done
-- Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread
-- Forgive Us...As We Forgive
-- Lead Us, Not into Temptation
-- For Thine Is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory
The study will encourage participants to see the Lord's Prayer not simply as words we recite, but as a guide for our relationship with God, our relationships with others, and our daily walk of faith.
Everyone is invited to join us beginning Oct. 4 at 8:45 a.m. Come learn, reflect and grow together as we discover the meaning and power of The Lord's Prayer.
