TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Mrs. Baker makes learning fun

Here at Central Mountain, we have plenty of teachers to rely on. Our teachers do their best to help us and make sure that we learn. One teacher that everybody can always count on is Mrs. Baker. She always helps students stay on the right path and can cheer anyone up at any moment. We had the opportunity to interview Mrs. Baker and ask her about her life leading up to teaching, her present life, and her future.
Mrs. Baker has been teaching for 22 years. She attended Lock Haven University for her degree. She has a husband, one son, one daughter, two dogs and a cat. She stated that what she liked most about teaching was, "The relationships that you have with your students. Long after the school day is over, when they come back to you and they want to tell you what they're doing and what accomplishments they have made, that's the best part."
Central Mountain has the pleasure of having two Bakers in the school. So when we asked Mrs. Baker how it is having her husband across the hall from her she said, "Well, I'll be honest, I would love to have Billy Hook teaching across the hallway from me but its Mr. Baker so it's okay. No no no! Just kidding! I would have to say that Mr. Baker is a step up from Billy. Haha!"
When we asked how Mrs. Baker's high school experience was, she said they were the good ol days!
"Everyone got along, it was fun to go to school, and we didn't wear masks! Haha. But I loved going to high school, would I want to go back to high school today, no way. Would I want to go back to college? I would go back to college, definitely."
She said she is happy with her career at this point.
When Mrs. Baker was in high school, she played tennis. When we asked her what her favorite thing about high school was she said going to Friday night football games at the Painter Stadium. "That was like the best thing. There was always a section. There were also tons of people there cheering the team on. It was fun!"
Mrs. Baker has a successful and fulfilling teaching career. Even though she's already touched many students' lives, she hopes to touch even more. She loves to be a shoulder to lean on for all of her students. As long as we have teachers like Mrs. Baker at this school, learning will be fun for everybody.
