Vehicle accidents close Renovo Road
LOCK HAVEN – Two vehicle accidents that took place Thursday morning on Renovo Road have closed the highway from just outside Lock Haven to Hyner indefinitely.
Both accidents took place around 11 a.m. The first was reported in the 1100 block near the 40&8 Club #903, 1098 Renovo Road. According to reports, a telephone pole and wires were knocked down during the crash.
The second accident was reported soon after in the 8000 block near Hyner. According to reports, a person may have been ejected from a vehicle and Lifeflight was called to the parking area at the former Eagles Nest restaurant.
PennDOT crews have been stationed at two points along the roadway – one at Hanna Park and another near Baker’s Run Road – and are keeping most traffic away from the stretch in between.
A PennDOT representative directing traffic at Hanna Park said they are only allowing some motorists past the park but only up to the 40&8. Otherwise, drivers are being asked to turn around.
Those traveling from the Renovo area toward Lock Haven are being directed onto Hyner Run Road where they’ll take Route 44. From there they’ll take Route 664 into Lock Haven.
PennDOT crews from Bloomsburg were enroute. It’s estimated it will be a few hours before the downed pole and wires are cleaned up and traffic can resume up to the 40&8. There was no word on how long it would take for traffic to return to normal near Baker’s Run.
