West Pharmaceutical announces expansion
JERSEY SHORE – West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. will be expanding at its Jersey Shore and Williamsport facilities.
The Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, announced that West Pharmaceutical, a global leader in innovative, high-quality injectable solutions and services, will continue its expansion at its Jersey Shore and Williamsport facilities in Lycoming County, as well as continue its growth at the company’s headquarters in Exton, PA.
West is expanding current operations at both their Jersey Shore and Williamsport sites, which is an investment to meet the growing demand in the healthcare market, including the increased demand driven by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project brings a capital investment of more than $18 million to Lycoming County and is expected to create more than 100 additional jobs at the Jersey Shore site, along with an additional 29 high quality manufacturing jobs at its Williamsport facility. This will add to the already 650 jobs it provides in Lycoming County, and over 1,200 jobs in Pennsylvania.
Between both sites, West will add a variety of full time and family-sustaining career opportunities with these expansions, including machine operators, procurement and planning specialists, supervisors, engineers, maintenance technicians, and tooling specialists. Lycoming Commissioner Rick Mirabito thanked “West for their continued investment in Jersey Shore and Williamsport” and noted “the long-standing relationship between West and Lycoming County.” Commissioner Mirabito also thanked “the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for making generous contributions of almost $1 million dollars to support West’s investment in Lycoming County.”
