Winter Storm Warning

The National Weather Service’s Winter Storm Warning for our region is effective through 5 p.m. Saturday.

Forecasters predict 5 to 7 inches of snow in Clinton County, perhaps more on mountaintops, and is advising people to not travel Saturday.

The snow will be heavy, the NWS said, and wind gusts of up to 45 mph can be expected at the height of and following the storm.

“Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches,” forecasters warn.

The storm will start with light rain after sunset Friday and turn to snow after midnight.

“The snow will be heaviest between 5 a.m. and noon Saturday, but lighter snow may continue for the rest of the day,” they said.
