BELLEFONTE -- Amber Concepcion will be sworn in as a Centre County commissioner on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. in Courtroom 1 of the Centre County Courthouse.
Centre County President Judge Pamela Ruest appointed Concepcion (D) to fill Pipe's unexpired term through the end of 2023, according to a Press Release. Ruest and the entire team of Centre County Court of Common Pleas Justices were very helpful during the appointment process.
Concepcion brings years of public service experience in the Centre Region and currently serves as Board President for State College Area School District. She has been a member of the district for over eleven years and Board President for nine of those years. She was the Board President during the design and construction of the new State College Area High School as well as three new elementary school buildings. During her tenure, the district has achieved strong financial stability while prioritizing improvements to meet the needs of students and families.
