LOCK HAVEN -- Lock Haven City Council held an emergency meeting with the Suburban Water Authority and members of the Central Clinton County Water Filtration Authority, unanimously voting to temporarily connect to city wells in Wayne Township.
The city had to lower reservoir levels to keep them up to current standards set by the PA Division of Dam Safety, and as a result the levels have been consistently depleting.
In order to lessen that strain, a plan was created to connect two of the city's wells to the main line.
Currently, according to Mark Glenn of Gwin Dobson & Foreman Engineers, the city has around 74 days of available storage left in the reservoir -- equating to around 172 million gallons.
As a result of this meeting, two Wayne Township wells will be temporarily connected to the system in order to take the load off of the reservoirs and reduce the demand, enabling them to recover.
