The Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) and the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) announced they have reached an agreement in principle for a new faculty contract.
The contract would cover all faculty at state-run schools, including Commonwealth University Lock Haven.
Legal counsel for APSCUF and PASSHE are finalizing language, the two sides said in a brief prepared statement.
After the language is completed, the tentative agreement will be available for APSCUF members, and the ratification process will begin.
Contract details will be released after the ratification and approval process is complete and before the Board of Governors takes action, they said.
The most recent contract expired June 30, 2023, and remains in place until a new collective bargaining agreement is ratified.
APSCUF represents about 5,500 faculty and coaches at the State System universities, which also include Mansfield and Bloomsburg.
