Pregnant woman being held hostage in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT – A pregnant woman is being held hostage by her boyfriend inside her Timberland Apartment in the 500 block of Lycoming Street, a family member confirmed to the Sun-Gazette just after 1 p.m.

City police have made no public statements about the standoff that began about 10 a.m.

The family member said she had been talking on the phone with the tenant between 9-10 a.m., everything seemed O.K. when the phone went dead.

Another family member standing outside the apartment complex then terminated the interview and said no more questions would be answered.

A second Special Tactical Response Team, believed from Columbia County arrived about 1 p.m.
