RENOVO – A water boil advisory is in effect for residents of Renovo Borough and Chapman Township after the water department found a broken line along Paddy’s Run in East Renovo Monday morning.
Once found the break took about five hours to repair. The break was on an original section of cast iron pipe that is likely near 100 years old. The line runs along Paddy’s Run and not very deep, a fallen tree from last night’s thunderstorm crushed a section of the line.
Residents of Renovo and Chapman Township could have had no water for the duration of the fix, but South Renovo was able to link up water to all of the residents who had a seamless transition until the current water boil advisory. School was canceled with the anticipation of the loss of water, but again, South Renovo’s water department stopped that from becoming an issue.
The Renovo Fire Department had set up water buffaloes and offered water to anyone who may have needed it all day on Monday.
