A three-car accident at milemarker 119.4 along Route 220 northbound in Pine Creek Township has forced the highway to close at the Avis exit, snarling the evening commute for many.

Clinton County Fire Wire was reporting that emergency crews were en route to the area following “multiple vehicle accidents in the area.”

Another multiple vehicle accident had occurred near the PA-44 north/Pine Creek exit, also on 220 northbound.

Drivers are asked to exercise “extreme caution” when traveling through or around the area.
