Woman charged for prostitution at Mill Hall spa

MILL HALL — Pennsylvania State Police arrested an employee at a local spa and charged her with felony counts related to prostitution following an investigation.
Jinwei Wang, 49, last known address Flushing, N.Y., was arrested on Tuesday, July 7 after PSP’s Troop F Vice-Narcotics Unit conducted several weeks of surveillance and investigating leads related to Relaxa Spa along Hogan Boulevard in Bald Eagle Township, according to a release from District Attorney Dave Strouse’s office via Crimewatch.
According to the release, troopers conducted interviews within its investigation that led to Wang’s arrest for allegedly promoting prostitution at the establishment.
Wang was taken into custody and charged with felony promoting prostitution and attempted prostitution and lodged at the Clinton County Correctional Facility, police said
Bail was set at $50,000 with Wang also being held on an immigration detainer issued by ICE.
The release noted an investigation into the business and employees is ongoing.
“State Police have announced that multiple males will be arrested in the upcoming weeks for soliciting sexual acts from a female within the business,” the release said.
This arrest comes after many were made in nearby Lycoming County, though these cases are not tied together.
According to information shared by the Sun Gazette, Montoursville police are currently investigating Jia Yuan Spa, a massage business that allegedly is nothing more than a front for a house of prostitution.
So far, two individuals have been arrested and charged with felonies, the Sun Gazette reported, including Xia Sun, 42, of Philadelphia and Liuping Li, 49, formerly of Montoursville.
Li, who was arrested last month on prostitution-related offenses, was the manager of the business while Sun was the owner and operator of the spa, borough Deputy Chief Clinton Gardner stated in an affidavit.
Sun faces a total of 20 felonies while Li has been charged with eight. The charges for both women ranged from trafficking in individuals and involuntary servitude to dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities and unlawful conduct regarding documents.
