Charles A. Hahn, 92, of 209 E. Keller St., Castanea, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at home.
He was born in Orviston on May 21, 1924, the son of the late Raymond Grant and Anna Mary Nearhood Hahn.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from March 1943 to February 1946, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal.
He was employed at Piper Aircraft as a lead man for over 40 years, retiring when Piper left Lock Haven. He also worked on the side for his uncle's business, Hahn Roofing of Flemington.
Charles was the oldest active member of the Flemington First Church of Christ.
He enjoyed fishing, going to Knoebels Grove Amusement Park, and attending the "Old Orviston Days" annual festival. He also loved his many trips to Florida with his family and visiting his brother in Little Rock, Ark.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Paul) Vance of Castanea and Kelly Hahn of New York; a daughter-in-law, Trudy Hahn of Renovo; five grandchildren, Mike (Kristin) Vance, Heather (Justin) McKeague, Wayne (Diana) Hahn, Shelley (Shawn) Sockman and KaSara Hahn; and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Hahn; and two brothers, Ken and Mervin Hahn.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall, Pa. 17751 with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
Friends and family will be received at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
